The Republic of King of the Trees is a very large, cultured nation, renowned for its compulsory vegetarianism, lack of airports, and punitive income tax rates. The democratic population of 147 million Treesians love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 51.0%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient King of the Treesian economy, worth 4.98 trillion trees a year, is quite specialized and dominated by the Book Publishing industry, with significant contributions from Basket Weaving, Automobile Manufacturing, and Furniture Restoration. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 33,847 trees, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.2 times as much as the poorest.

Urban high-volume mailers now receive their mail via chauffeur-driven limousines, the government has instituted 'traveller reservations' across the country, the economy's basis is "from each according to his abilities and to each according to their accountants", and boats straying just metres away from the shore will raise the ire of the Coast Guard. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. King of the Trees's national animal is the tree, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

King of the Trees is ranked 241,742nd in the world and 3,047th in the West Pacific for Highest Workforce Participation Rate, with 56.23 Workforce Participation Rate.
