Serving as its main political, economic, and population centres, the so-called Cardinal Cities of Khoronzon are the local capitals of the Supremacy's six primary administrative regions - Ural, Ob-Irtysh, Yenisei, Baikal, Vostsibir, and Okhotsk - of which one, Vohzhrost, additionally houses the central government of the nation itself. A collection of mega-metropolises counting among the largest cities on the face of the planet, they are held in pride as testaments to Khoronzonite construction and development, and as exemplars of the nation's rise to power against a hostile world. I. Yxradhar

Yxradhar is the largest city in Khoronzon in both size and population, as well as its first historical capital. Centred around what was originally the city of Novosibirsk, it was rechristened to signify "Yxarazh's Gift" after the god of construction and artifice in the former Khoronzonite pantheon, and extensively built over with new infrastructure and expanded into neighbouring districts over the course of the Supremacy's takeover. With the administrative centre since moved to Vohzhrost after the latter was purpose-built, Yxradhar still retains much of its former status, continuing to overshadow its successor in cultural significance.

II. Vohzhrost

City emblem of Vohzhrost

Vohzhrost is a multi-leveled, almost entirely subterranean fortified metropolis that serves as the administrative capital of Khoronzon, located beneath the Chersky Range near Mt. Pobeda and tunneling thousands of metres into the Earth. It is Khoronzon's densest city, and while its astronomically high density is significantly alleviated by the city's unparalleled verticality and layered structure, Vohzhrost is still tightly packed and confined. Its primary purpose is as the nation's political centre, housing the seat of the Khoronzonite central government and the personal residence of the Emperor within the Nexus complex at its very core; over the course of its existence, it has additionally become a powerhouse of industry and technological development, only further adding onto itself as it continues to expand through the depths.

Vohzhrost consists of nine Sectors - Athar, Hades, Sheol, Irkalla, Sanctum, Avernus, Gehenna, Assakar, and Tartarus - each containing 16 districts, with the exception of Sanctum having 4. They are arranged by proximity to the surface, while Sanctum is located both horizontally and vertically at the centre of the Irkalla and Avernus Sectors. Each Sector is essentially a small city of its own, with a depth of approximately 450m on average, separated by ceilings and floors and connected via elevators and subways.

III. Mrakhskiel

The smallest and least economically significant of the Cardinal Cities, Mrakhskiel is nonetheless held in reverence on par with, and in some aspects even surpassing, its sisters, for the simple reason of its importance to the Shrouded Ones. Home to the Catacombs, an expansive, tightly guarded subterranean complex accessible only to initiated Acolytes, the city is surrounded by an aura of mystery and fear spawned from the cryptic workings of the devout that go forever untold, save for within its hidden passageways. Its air is perpetually blanketed in fog, which varies in density but never lifts, and its climate is notoriously harsh and cold, leading it to possess extensive underground and otherwise sheltered infrastructure for protection against the elements. Outwardly, however, this only serves to heighten Mrakhskiel's ominous reputation, with the conspicuous lack of open-air activity giving it the appearance of a massive ghost town.
