The Kaltic Military's policy on gender and transitioning.

Since the days of the revolution, the Kaltovar Defense Forces have not put any limitations on gender within it's military. All restroom, sleeping, and shower facilities (in fact, all facilities in general) are gender neutral.

The physical standard for female recruits is not reduced, which leads to a smaller percentage of females in physically intensive roles such as Special Forces (mainly due to upper body strength requirements) - This disparity is inverted in technical and command roles, which have a higher percentage of females.

Because the KDF has never had gender restrictions in place, Transgender and Nonbinary soldiers can also be found in shockingly high numbers (about 3.7% of the total force). There was recently a debate about this sparked by the public realizing it to be the case, but the Military Leadership chose to formally recognized these individuals for reasons of political outreach and national solidarity.

Arguments about military readiness with regard to Kaltovar's lack of gender restrictions are dismissed, because broad public approval is considered to be part of the national strategy -- And because most adults are legally required to serve several years as conscripts. It is manifestly true that exempting female, transgender, and gender nonconforming individuals from this requirement would actually reduce Kaltovar's overall military readiness by causing less of it's people to be trained to defend themselves.

Due to Kaltovar's spartan "Requirements first, people second" mindset on military recruitment, very few special accommodations are granted to female and transgender servicemembers, who generally must shoulder a greater burden than their peers. The greatest comforts female soldiers are likely to find are that tampons are free and the military doctors are capable of removing ovarian cysts.
