The Old Imperial District (Mainland)

The Old Imperial District was once the administrative center during Dynastic rule, home to many of the Old Nation's nobility till the Revolution. Since then it's remained at a rough population of 3 million with limited growth
All ferry services meet in the Old Imperial District where ferrying to other islands is available, and is home to Kalaascovy's International Trade and Transportation Center.
The District remains the last attachment Kalaascovy has to mainland Balugata, and thus is a center for diplomacy.
The District contains many old imperial names, which could be only described as a combination of Germanic and Inuit names, and few efforts have been made to change the name, while the nobility has been abolished many former nobles still are alive, while under heavy scrutiny and can face discrimination by their former subjects. Most people enter the country via The Old Imperial District, since the warm waters make it easier for inexperienced captains to come to port. From there, experienced captains ferry tourists and others from the warm waters of the O.I.D. to the Main Island, and then other islands.
