List of Accepted Issues

This is my list of issues! Yes, I totally ripped it off of Singapore no2. x3

Issue Count: 20
Note: I count co-authorships as ˝

Co-Authorships: 2
As main: 1; As Co: 1
Note: AFTER this point, "as" refers to the co-author, not me.

  • Editor:Ransium
    Issue 802
No Lock, No Gun Stock, And No Smoking Barrels
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I was working on a draft about SCP Containment Breach (for some reason), and it was decided to not be a great issue. Since I was a despirate new writer, I was like "give me any idea and I'll work the options in", so I worked on a draft about nuclear meltdown. Unfortunately, that was already done, so we eventually settled on an issue about a gun robbery in a nation without guns outside of the military. Bless Ransium for his cooperating with my franticly trying to write for nationstates. <3

  • Editor:Caracasus
    Issue 859
    A Cola by Another Name
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I think CWA mentioned this as a possible issue idea in the writers' block. He doesn't remember ever doing such, though, so idk. This issue mostly pokes fun at the fact that both Eckie-Cola and Eckie-Ecola are canon, although the issue runs deep with a controversy over age vs. success.

  • Editor:The Free Joy State
    Issue 880
Oh @@NAME@@, What Obscene Children's Books You Have
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I forget how I learned about it, but I ended up finding out that many old children's tales like the Grimm Tales and, specifically, Little Red Riding Hood, were based on far more mature stories. I thought it would also be neat to take a page from Issues #3 and #46, which I did. That said, I was actually pleasantly surprised to find this one made it; I really didn't have such high hopes for it. :)

The issue is based on the idea that these children's tales were originally rather horrific in nature, and moral teachers are questioning whether they should be allowed in schools.

  • Editor:Ransium
    Issue 884
    You're Psychotic, @@LEADER@@
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
This is sort of an opposite to issue #110. It was inspired from a read I had about how inaccurate the world assembly categories are, and is reflected in this issue, which is about the World Assembly labling your nation as a psychotic dictatorship.

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Co-Author:Australian rePublic (as Co)
    Issue 895
    Stop Training and Start Coaching
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
CWA was editing a draft with Aussie in his drafting thread to sort-of showcase the drafting process when the issue was deemed a bit unworkable. I decided to help out and we later became co-authors. The issue is about whether trains should be replaced by coaches(busses) or not.
Unfortunately, I got the badge and what's essentially the "primary author" status, which I didn't even know was a thing.
Afaic, Aussie deserves the badge for this one, but here's hoping one day we can rectify that with another co-authorship together. :)

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Issue 937
    Ebony Pride
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I originally wanted to just make a draft where growing tree farms was actually a good idea, but it morphed strictly into an issue about other nations supplying lumber from unsustainable tree farms. I decided to try and inject some humor, and decided to go about it by looking up tree puns. I went out on a limb and dappled the whole issue with them.

  • Editor:Baggieland
    Issue 938
A Little Gift From a Friend
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
There are so many issues about giving nations some aid, but none about nations offering you aid. For poor nations, that's what this does.

  • Editor:The Free Joy State
    Issue 1039
    Number One Fan
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
This issue was actually inspired by the original title of the draft, "Hi, Says Very Enthusiastic Child from @@CAPITAL@@".
That title was a joke about how many of the older issues in NS are "(Some Title), Say(s) (Some people/group)".
Not like it needed the title, but I'm very happy that an issue about fan mail made it into the game regardless. :')

  • Editor:The Marsupial Illuminati
    Issue 1065
    Pulling Out
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I was looking through policies to see what could use some expansion, and I noticed how almost irrelevant the Climate Treaty policy was.
Fortunately, the US had just recently pulled out of the climate treaty irl, so a very good premise was already made for me. :)
This is also the dirtiest issue I've ever written and probably ever will write.

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Issue 1080
    The End Was Nigh
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I remembered learning of the story this'un's based on from Thoughty˛, who was talking about how gut feelings worked, but I never knew its name until drafting.
Based on the story of Stanislav Petrov, this issue is based on faulty machinery and nuclear war — which doesn't sound fun.
The issue itself is pretty fun though, as were the drafting, the editing (from what I hear), and the references.

  • Editor:Baggieland
    Issue 1094
    A Political Cover-Up
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
So, this draft (thank Australian rePublic for finding it) had something about everyone being nude in the description.
I have no idea why, as it had nothing to do with the issue, but my gosh was that the makings of an awesome premise. xD

  • Editor:Gnejs
    Issue 1096
    En Bloc
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
    I loved #502.

  • Editor:USS Monitor
    Issue 1109
    Of Mice and Meth
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I have no idea why, but I wondered what kind of issues would arise from drugging the water supply. Very glad I did; this is one of my favorites. :3

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Issue 1112
    Stray Bullets
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I had tried to make three pet-related drafts: a reversal to banning pets, a reversal to killing strays, and an issue where rats took over if you did both. xD
I was amazed even one was accepted! Thank you CWA for editing this 'un. I'm sure it was a challenge. ;)
P.S. This one wasn't found until all others from 802-1180 were found. xD

  • Editor:Pogaria
    Co-Author:Yotongrek (as Main)
    Issue 1137
    A Really Sour Lemon
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I was looking through some old drafts to see if any good ones were abandoned. Turns out, at least one was!
I really liked the premise and the writing, so I decided to ask Yotongrek if I could finish it up with 'em.
It's one of the most light-hearted ones I think I've participated in, so it'll certainly have a place in my heart. Thank you, Yotongrek. :)

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Issue 1150
    Back Lash Backlash
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
One policy I wanted to tackle was corporal punishment, which seems to have a dearth of reversals.
Turns out, interrogative torture's entirely different! So this is now a followup issue. Good fun. :)
I'd like to personally thank CWA for Mia Blondin de Root.

  • Editor:Baggieland
    Issue 1159
    The Sad State of Affairs
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
Two policies: No Adultery, Polygamy. Not entirely sure why I thought of this,
but I think it may've originated from the idea of polygamy and permanent marriage that Fauxia came up with.

  • Editor:Nation of Quebec
    Issue 1161
    Chip Off the Ol' Bloc
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I quite enjoyed #657; I'd always want to pick option 3.
But every time, my integrity would drop, and I'd wonder "why? I'm making everyone a free independent!"
Eventually, the conclusion was that factions would pop up in secret and be far more deceptive, but it never really was explained in the issue base.
That's what I set out to do with this one, and thanks to NoQ, it's now a proper consequence issue. :D

  • Editor:Zwangzug
    Issue 1180
    Death Doesn't Discriminate
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
This was another one of those "what are two policies that could work together in a funny way?" drafts.
It didn't entirely end up that way, but I'd say it ended in an even better place, playing on odd policies left and right.
It's also probably the most skeletal issue I have in the game, and was my first somewhat "dark" draft (though not my first "dark" issue).

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Issue 1185
    Should Be Sufficient
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I wanted to take a crack at the autarky policy and make a reversal. I noticed a recurring theme in drafts that didn't work:
they depended on your nation suffering from it. So I wanted to spin this around and make it other nations suffering instead.
    Guess it worked. :)

  • Editor:Candlewhisper Archive
    Issue 1188
    The Only Good Criminal
    Draft
    Official
    Commentary:
I was actually thinking of another issue for corporal punishment, and made a capital punishment variant set that ended up being the only one panning out. It asks the question: If the state commits capital punishment, and vigilantes can act as law enforcement, should vigilantes be allowed to kill?
(or, at least, I think it asks that question...)

I'd like to thank all of the editors, and the people who helped me with my drafts, for their work to make these issues shine. :D
