The Empire of Imperialisium is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by House Valeria with an even hand, and renowned for its frequent executions, punitive income tax rates, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed population of 24.711 billion Emperians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt morass — juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Imperia. The average income tax rate is 82.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Emperian economy, worth a remarkable 1,512 trillion Reichsmarks a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Book Publishing, and Trout Farming. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 61,206 Reichsmarks, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Pro-democracy regime change has been avoided, invasive species are hunted by the gendarmerie, business owners return from long vacations to find their factories have been turned into homeless shelters, and the military has forsaken terrestrial warfare. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Imperialisium's national animal is the Reichsadler, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Imperialisium is ranked 98,257th in the world and 7th in Aeterna Publicae for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 79.34 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
