The Republic of Hospitatia is a colossal, efficient nation, notable for its prohibition of alcohol, free-roaming dinosaurs, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 6.424 billion Hospitatians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Industry, Healthcare, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 98.2%.

The frighteningly efficient Hospitatian economy, worth a remarkable 1,340 trillion currencies a year, is driven almost entirely by government activity, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, extremely specialized black market in Uranium Mining and Woodchip Exports. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an amazing 208,682 currencies, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.2 times as much as the poorest.

There's an aura of pseudoscience around academia, saying that someone looks a bit pale can be construed as hate speech, companies struggle to cover for the hordes of employees on parental leave, and the big red machine has ground to a halt. Crime is so common that it is unusual to encounter someone following the law, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Hospitatia's national animal is the animal, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Hospitatia is ranked 294,465th in the world and 9th in Vickenian experiment containment zone for Lowest Crime Rates, with 2.2 law-abiding acts per hour.
