The Federal Republic of Germanovna is a tiny, pleasant nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, irreverence towards religion, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 10 million Germanovnians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The tiny government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Law & Order also on the agenda, while International Aid and Spirituality aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8.9%.

The strong Germanovnian economy, worth 600 billion Rubles a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Average income is 60,034 Rubles, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 179,184 per year while the poor average 15,744, a ratio of 11.4 to 1.

Military spending is on the increase, the new Liquor Legitimacy Office is besieged with job applications from people who have experience in "statistical sampling methods", Leader has been seen stealthily slicing fifths off bread loaves, and there are no bananas today in Germanovna. Crime is moderate. Germanovna's national animal is the White Wolf.

Germanovna is ranked 130,156th in the world and 6,378th in The North Pacific for Highest Drug Use, scoring 26.6 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
