Major Ethnic Groups of Friday Freshman

The Melwi

Understanding the natives of an area can be a very hard task to complete, but the researchers have done much work to try and discover the native history of our country. From what is observable, there are two groups who natively lived in Friday Freshman before the rise of the Illondrans: the Labrynithians and the Melwi.

In this excerpt we are taking a moment to understand the fascinating group that is the Melwi as they have been pushed into a small section of Friday Freshman and they are the survivors of the atrocious diseases that Illondrans were immune to. Many see the Melwi as mere savages, rightfully so in some cases as there hunting and gathering lifestyle still permits but their cultural values are quite fascinating and are found no where else in the nation.

First we must explain the build of the people. The vast majority of the Melwi are black of skin with black hair as well. It can only be assumed that they became this way via prolonged exposure to the sun. Most of the men and women are very muscular and lead a very active lifestyle as their culture dictates. These men and women have become known as some of the premier huntsmen of all of Friday Freshman and their weapon of choice is the spear or bow.

Perhaps the most famed of these hunters are the tiger riders. They consist of hunters riding bareback upon a tamed Roshi Tiger. Roshi Tigers are only found within the Shadowlands of Friday Freshman and differ from regular tigers in their build and appearance. Their unusually strong backs make them uniquely able to carry humans on their back as opposed to most tigers. Only the best hunters have been able to tame a tiger and a vicious training and ceremony must be passed through in order to even attempt the feet. Unlike other groups within the Melwi people, the tiger riders are also known for their abstinence and giving up of family. Once a man or woman becomes a rider, they must remain abstinent for the rest of their lives while giving up the wife and children they might already have.

The religious views of The Melwi are also interesting. They are worshippers of "Mzunguko Wa Maisha" or in the common tongue, 'The Circle of Life'. They take great care to protect the environment and perform rituals upon animal kills. To many in Friday Freshman, this is seen as a tradition deserving of the utmost respect and many of the hunters who visit the remaining lands of The Melwi, will take the initiatives to learn the rituals.

The Melwi only remain in a small part of North Friday Freshman called The Shadowlands as they are covered by the shadows of the Spine. This land is butt up against Telemarcia and their autonomous buffer.

The Melwi make up 8.45% of the population and are only settled in the "Shadowlands" Province.

The Labrynithians

Perhaps these were precursors to the Teronians or Freshman but a highly intelligent race of beings that lived a long lon time ago. No one has seen them in thousands of years, but they have left beyond arrifacts that have recently been found by Freshman Archeologists.

To fully point out how far back the Labarynthians, or for Freshman they were known as the Precursors, were around a Freshman Archeologist, said the following: "You can ask the plants, the plants will not remember. The plants can ask the rocks and the rocks will not recall, even the rocks will not recall."

It is very likely that there was never contact between any of the ethnic groups today and the Labarynthians but the Melwi, write of the intense mazes in the mountains that give these people their name.

Perhaps as time goes on we will learn more about these long dead people but their disappearance is quite mysterious in nature as there are no bones or fossils that point to them dying, just disappearing.

The Labarynthians make up 0.00% of the population and have left artifacts in "The Labryinth" Province.

The Illondrans

The Illondrans are the majority share holders in the arena of Friday Freshman in many ways. In addition to being the most populous group, they were also the initial civilized inhabitants of the area (if you call the Labrynthians and Melwi uncivilized however much shows that this may in fact be untrue). When the Illondrans first came to the lands that are now Friday Freshman, they established their own nation of Derflekktagen who had a history of conflict with Recheve. The Illondrans themselves were known as great warriors but as time went on, they moved away from their history of war to the more peaceful suburban lifestyle that suits them now in Friday Freshman.

It is hard to recollect the history of the Illondrans as the histories of Derflekktagen were lost in the great collapse of their nation but it was Illondrans who found themselves in a position of power when the new country of Friday Freshman was formed. Both King Richard who was murdered at Harken Hall, and Regulus Overton who was assassinated by socialist terrorists were of Illondran decent. Their influence continues to be of great importance to the nation of Friday Freshman as a whole.

The Illondrans make up 59.73% of the population and are mainly settled in the "Sordid Marshes" and "Delkor" Provinces.

The Freshmen

The Freshmen ethnic group is exclusively the Freshmen that came from the southern deserts of what is now underneath the nation of Friday Freshman. Freshmen have a very weathered complexion from their desert days and are very well known for their trading and economic prowess but not their prowess in military fighting or governance. With the old nation of Friday Freshman dissolving twice before the formation of the new one, it is unlikely that any Freshman will run for Prime Minister any time soon but they will continue to lead and dominate the private and public sector economic roles and serve as Finance Ministers.

The Freshmen make up 23.69% of the population and are mainly settled in the "Golden Point" and "The Labyrinth" Provinces.

The Patros

The Patros are an athletically inclined ethnic group who are of a mix of Illondran and Freshman blood. Patros are known both for very old rivalries with Eucadians who viewed them as meddlesome people and for an intense love of the game of football.

Many Patros are found today in the major leagues and on the national team of Friday Freshman. It is likely that they will continue to dominate the football world until other ethnic groups catch up in terms of skill.

The Patros make up 5.67% of the population and are mainly settled in the "Easterlands" and "Westerlands" Provinces.
