Major Systems within the Republic

Core Region
Name: Roon Husila
Star type: G (Yellow)
Number of bodies: 9
Importance: Capital, major shipyards, industrial center, military center
Major Planets: Arcadia, Garion, Roon Husila III, Lenus, Aladwolf, Ashfield
Information: Roon Husila is the cultural, political, economic and military center of the Republic, this highly important and well guarded system sits at the heart of Republic space. The system is by far one of the most built up and colonized within the Republic, with vast colonies spread throughout the system. But, the major planets of this system are; Arcadia, Garion, Lenus, Aladwolf, Ashfield.

Arcadia is a slightly larger, earth sized planet that orbits the jovian known as Roon Husila III, which is the fifth planet from the sun and has one moon known as Garion. Arcadia is the capital planet of the Republic, it is a rather cold planet that is covered in several continents and deep oceans. Thick boreal forests, deep fjords, tall mountains and rolling grasslands dominate its landscape. However, there are some deserts, jungles and rainforests that pepper itís surface. Being one of the most populated planets within the Republic, hundreds of fortress-like cities dot its surface in true Republic fashion. With many of these fortress cities nestled in fjrods that dot the coastline, in the mountains or the rolling grasslands of Arcadia. Vast pieces of land sit between each city, as each city is built in a more vertical fashion with numerous skyscrapers and condos.

Garion is a habitable alpine like moon that orbits Arcadia, it is odd in that it has a breathable atmosphere like that of Arcadia. While it has a mostly alpine appearance, the surface is also littered with dense boreal forests, frozen lakes, and icy seas. Garion is considerably smaller than Arcadia, and has a smaller population. However, it is one of the first places that the Republic colonized, thanks to abundance in natural resources and rather ease of colonization. Alongside its mineral wealth, the moon boasted large pockets of a substance called Fenvarium. This hyper fuel will be discovered and researched, then later be used as a starship fuel. With these discoveries, Garion first started out as a refueling base for further exploration into the system. Nowadays, the planet still serves as a refueling point but it also serves as a major military base and manufacturing center.

Roon Husila III was the first Jovian colony that was established by the Republic, it has extensive gas mining and refining centers; mostly focusing on helium, xeon, and other gases. However, aside from its gas mining it also has a number of habituation blocks for the civilian population that lives on the numerous stations that dot the gas giant. But, it also serves as a major communication and traffic relay point for all incoming ships to the major core worlds.

Also in orbit of Roon Husila III, Lenus was the second planet to be colonized by the Republic. Lenus is slightly larger than Garion and is slightly warmer but is still cold. While it is not as mountainous, it is filled with rolling hills and vast grasslands alongside swaths of forests. It was not colonized for its mineral wealth, but rather its highly fertile soil and its location as a refueling point. Upon colonization of the moon, several dozen farming communities started to popup and these farms began to flourish thanks to the nicer climate. Also upon colonization, some modest pockets of Fenvarium were discovered and drilled. But, not long into the colonization of Lenus, some anti-government rebellions popped up with many of these being linked to the Terrestrial Coalition. These rebellions were later squashed during ďThe ScareĒ and finally with the dissolution of the Coalition. After the rebellions the planet would once again prosper and today is one of the most productive agricultural worlds in the Republic, while also functioning as a refueling point. Crisp air, beautiful landscapes and the wide open nature of Lenus makes it a favorite tourist destination as well.

Aladwolf, is a planet that orbits Roon Husila VI and is covered in boreal trees, mountains, with several frozen lakes that dot the surface of the planet. The planet is colder when compared to Arcadia but still habitable. The planet is rather unremarkable and nothing really interesting has happened to it aside from that it is being used as a military staging point and has extensive mining settlements.

Being the fourth planet from the sun, Ashfield is an arid habitable planet that is lightly populated and is covered in domed cities. Most of this colony focuses on mining but it does have a number of solar collectors, scientific stations, and factories that dot the landscape. It was one of the last planets to be colonized by the Republic due to its rather arid landscape. But, the origins of this colony aren't Fenvarian, instead this colony was founded by one of the other nations on Arcadia prior to the planetary unification. Due to its close proximity to the sun and hot temperatures this planet is perfect for collecting solar energy. On top of that the vast deserts and low population also make the planet perfect for various forms of testing, ranging from habitation testing to weapons testing.

Name: Koln
Star type: G (Yellow)
Number of bodies: 7
Importance: Industrial center, major shipyards, major military center
Major Planets: Festung, Gneisenau, Scharnhost, Siegfried, Gothic, Bismarck, Tripitz
Information: Information: Being the first system colonized by the Republic, Koln is an industrial and military giant outside of Fuchs. The systemís fortifications rival that of the capital system as well, this is all due to the fact that Koln is right on the doorstep of Fuchs and is one of two ways into the capital system. This strategic location allows forces to quickly move from Arcadia and Koln in a secure manner, and also allows fleets to patrol the high volume trade routes that flow into the capital. Aside from its massive military and industrial centers, Koln is home to a number of major shipyards that are constantly active with ships being repaired, retrofitted, built or being broken down.

Festung is the third planet from the sun and is a cascadian like planet that features very tall mountains, deep valleys, roaring rivers and great seas. The planet is also covered in grasslands and has a decent amount of forests. As for temperature, Festung is about as cold as Arcadia, if not just barely warmer. The planet is slightly larger than Arcadia and has a slightly longer day then the Fenvaria homeworld. But, it also boasts incredible wealth with its vast veins of minerals, including vast pockets of Fenvarium and fertile soil. In a few years to itís colonization, the planet had attracted a number of industrial giants to exploit mineral wealth causing the planetís growth to explode. Being one of the first outersystem colonies that had been established by the Republic, this planet would be heavily defended. Over the years as more settlements opened up, more defensive networks were constructed to keep pace with itís expansion. During the First Contact War, Festung would play a vital role in providing industrial and military material for the small Fenvarian Navy. To this day, Festung is the major fortress world that sits on the road to the capital providing a substantial amount of material to the wider Republic.

Tripitz is the furthest planet from the sun and can be best described as ďa desolate wasteland with the harshest nights and foreboding terrainĒ, however aside from it's lovely weather it has large reserves of fenvarium and minerals that are used to fuel the Republic economy and war machine. The planet is also largely a military installation with not much in the way of large scale civilian infrastructure.

Name: Ayim
Star type: F (White)
Number of bodies: 7
Importance: Farming, mining, defense system
Major Planets: Wolffe, Elia, Ciri
Information: Ayim was the second system colonized by the Republic and has several planets that are well suited for farming and mining operations. Thus the system provides a substantial yield of minerals and agricultural products. While it does not have the industrial or military might of Thovold, it is still a well defended system as it sits on the second entry point into Arcadia. However, it is a well patrolled system to make sure that pirates and other bandits do not appear in the system.

Wolffe is the main planet in the system and is an alpine like world, but unlike other planets the terrain of the planet is very rugged. Deep valleys, sky reaching mountains, and deep frozen lakes dot its surface. There is little tree life that covers its rocky and rugged surface, however, under this surface there are a number of wealthy veins of mineral resources. Most of the population is spread out in a number of mining settlements with a few cities dotting the landscape.

Name: Tempestus
Star type: K (Orange)
Number of bodies: 9
Importance: Industrial center, farming, mining
Major Planets: Tempestus Prime, St. Adelus, Tempestus Asteroid Belt

Name: Caspianís Star
Star type: K (Orange)
Number of bodies: 9
Importance: Farming, mining
Major Planets: Caspian Alpha, Caspain Beta

Colonies

Name: Thovold
Star type: K (Orange)
Number of bodies: 9
Importance: Trade hub, Industrial center, military center, major shipyard
Major Planets: Andor, Radaus
Information: The Thovold system was colonized in the early days of the Republic expansion into the void and primarily was colonized for largely defensive reasons. However, it wasn't until further exploration of the system and the surrounding stars that the Republic found that this system was rich in fenvarium and mineral resources. Later on as the Republic expanded further and further, this system would expand just from a defensive system into a major trade hub, industrial center and finally a shipyard.

The planet of Andor is another cold planet, boreal forests, deep valleys, tall mountains, icy lakes and seas cover itís surface. The moon is considerably colder and features high winds. Snowfall is quite common and a daily occurence on the planet, making traditional agriculture rather difficult on the planet. However, the planet is considerably plentiful in mineral resources that fuel the Republicís industrial base. This planet is also considered to be a fortress world, due to the vast fortifications that litter the surface, making it an important link in the overall system defense. While the defensive works on Andor are not as impressive as Festung, they are still considerable and formidable. Andor is also a refueling point for ships and a rally point for military ships.

Being the fourth planet from the sun, Radaus is the last heavily fortified position within the system before one moves to the more rural in system colonies. The planet is rather unremarkable aside from its mostly alpine like terrain and climate. Aside from being a fortress system the planet does allow for good rough terrain training as well as geological studies. Radaus does have several mineral deposits that are being exploited, for the industries on the planet. It also does have several huge, geothermal vents that are also being tapped to help power the planetary cities and to help with mining efforts.

Frontier

Name: Caled
Star type: G (Yellow)
Number of bodies: 6
Importance: Military center, industrial center, mining
Major Planets: Caled Prime, Daigawa
Information: The Caled system sits right on the border with the Confederate State of Draco, being a border system, Caled has had a long history of invasions and military build up. It would see action in the 40 Years War. However, it would be quite relevant in the following Border Crisis conflict and the following yearly border skirmishes. The citizens here are tough and determined, they are also stubborn and refuse to back down when challenged. While they aren't producing at the same level of Thovold or any other core and outer core system, they do provide a significant amount of material.

Caled Prime is an alpine-like planet that is covered in mountains and dense forests, there is one major icy ocean with a number of smaller frozen lakes and small seas. The terrain is known to be rather unforgiving with steep mountains and deep valleys, snow storms and other storms are known to wrack the tall mountains. Overall, aside from mining operations and some limited agriculture, the planet is covered in fortifications and other defensive emplacements. The planet has been attacked several times by Dracoian forces, however, the fortifications time and time again prove to be a match for them. It is one of the few planets that provide a rather substantial number of regiments for the Republic Army.

Daigawa, a cascadian climate like world that orbits Thecroria, it serves as a fortress world and one of the first obstacles that an invading fleet would need to deal with if they wanted to get to Thecroria. Aside from its military application, the world is also a mining work with a sizable refueling depot.

Name: Lee
Star type: (3) F (White), K (Orange), L (Red Brown Dwarf)
Number of bodies: 10
Importance: Mining, Farming
Major Planets: Magantu
Information: To the far galactic west of Fuchs, Lee is one of the farthest colonized systems in Republic space. It is more or less a backwater system that is just getting on its feet. However, most of the planets in the system are rather rich in mineral resources and the always precious Fenvarium. Most of these resources have remained untapped due to the rather low population and the slow build up system based defenses.

Name: Greneze
Star type: O (Blue)
Number of bodies: 6
Importance: Mining
Major Planets: Grenze
Information: Practically handing on the edge of Republic space, Greneze is an outright backwater system, low population and low development. There is not much here, however there is a great deal of potential for development. System defenses are still few and far between, but are being built up the system is still rather wild. There are several small colonies with the main one being on the planet of Grenze.

Name: Strassman
Star type: F (White)
Number of bodies: 10
Importance: Mining
Major Planets: Krist
Information: Colonized around the same time as Greneze, Strassman serves much of the same history as Greneze. Low population and development makes this system quite the backwater and wild place to live. It is very much frontier like with small settlements dotting the surface of the planets. Much of this system is dedicated to mining for now, however, other industries are popping up throughout the system. Not to mention the system is starting to be built up in terms of defensives as well. The main colony is based around Krist.

Special Systems

Name: Sror
Star type: B (Bluish-White)
Number of bodies: 6
Importance: Protectorate
Major Planets: Ratzu, Ratzu II
Information: The system of Sror is a system that was colonized by the Dracoians, after itís colonization it would have a long and turbulent history even before the First Contact War. In the years prior it would be plagued by rebellions, religious violence, pirate raids, and other conflicts. During the First Contact War, first contact and the first major battles would erupt in the system. Later during the 40 Years War, it would be an epicenter of fighting, with both sides of the conflict launching raids into the system and fighting to take control of it. Eventually, the system would be handed over to the Fenvarians, where they would deal with another insurrection. Overtime and after some more fighting the planet would be released as a protectorate of the Republic. Nowadays, the system is somewhat calm and is patrolled by Republic ships as well as Protectorate ships. The Republic also has a significant amount of orbital infrastructure within the system ranging from defenses to mining equipment. Sror has itís system government, however, it has become bloated and corrupt. In recent times, small religious skirmishes have broken out between the ancestral worshipping and tech cult factions. The Republic has deployed some troopers to assist in the peacekeeping efforts.
