Detailed NavCom Overview, Ship by Ship

Frigate - The smallest dedicated fleet combat vessel of the Eldenian NavCom, these ships are utilized for screening and scouting purposes, operating more out of the main formation than in it. They are combat ineffective against enemy capital ships, as most of their weaponry is devoted to anti-fighter and anti-missile roles.
Length - 300m
Width - 100m
Shape - Kite
Propulsion
- 1x Vectored Thrust Engine, 135 degrees max
- 1x bottom-mounted thrust unit
Weapons Systems
- 2x Pulse Torpedo tubes
- 8x Hardlight Cannon ports
- 24x Hardlight Gunports
Complement
- 3x Hardlight Fighter Craft

Destroyer – A ship whose intended role is to swing above their weight class in combat. Destroyers are heavily armed and armoured in order to accomplish this, with capital-grade weaponry and significant shielding, even if they don’t have the mass to take a beating like a larger ship would. They also lack the noncombat functions of capital ships, forgoing hangar bays and landing supplies due to lack of space.
Length - 800m
Width - 300m
Shape - Triangular prism
Propulsion
- 1x Vectored Thrust Engine, 90 degrees max
Weapons Systems
- 16x Pulse Torpedo tubes
- 80x Hardlight Cannon ports
- 200x Hardlight Gunports
Complement
- 12x Hardlight Fighter Craft

Armoured Destroyer – A scaled-up destroyer, this vessel is a dedicated capital ship hunter, possessing high durability, comparatively small profile and high maneuverability, and capital ship-grade weaponry. They are a rarity in Eldenian fleets, as they lack the deployment flexibility of larger vessels.
Length - 1200m
Width - 500m
Shape - Triangular prism with 1x Firing Length
Propulsion
- 2x Vectored Thrust Engines, 60 degrees max
- 3x Auxiliary Thrust Engines
Weapons Systems
- 1x Directed Energy Weapon
- 36x Pulse Torpedo tubes
- 120x Hardlight Cannon ports
- 280x Hardlight Gunports
Complement
- 24x Hardlight Fighter Craft

Cruiser – The mainstay vessel of the Eldenian NavCom, this capital ship forms the backbone of Eldenian fleets. With significant firepower, ground assault, and carrying capabilities it is an excellent all-around ship.
Length - 1600m
Width - 550m
Shape - Tetrahedral prism

Technology

Hull – Eldenian starships utilize a fairly basic hull composition for a race following a fleet in being command doctrine, constructing vessels out of extremely resilient but heavy alloys. While this decreases ship maneuverability significantly, it allows Eldenian vessels to survive extreme impacts based upon their hull alone. This includes crash landings upon planets, firepower that would destroy a more lightweight construction, and even ramming enemy ships.

Armour – Hardlight Energy Matrix - Consisting of a grid of hardlight projectors throughout the ship, the Hardlight Projection Matrix is a relatively simple system that, when activated, covers the majority of a ship's hull with a durable hardlight armour. Though it will shatter under sufficient force, functioning as an active protection system in the process, so long as the projectors themselves are not destroyed this is a remotely repairable second hull, greatly increasing the survivability of even small Eldenian ships.

Weapons - Hardlight Energy Projectors - The primary weapons of Eldenian vessels remain the hardlight projection systems favoured by all branches of the Eldenian military. Composed of a simple mechanism which condenses energy into a compact, volatile matrix and a force-particle launcher, the weapon accelerates its custom-made projectiles to almost the speed of light upon firing. Upon impact, these projectiles destabilize and release their energy into the surrounding area, functioning as explosive weapons. While these projectiles are high-speed and deadly, their unguided nature makes it difficult to hit a maneuvering target.

Weapons - Directed Energy Weapon - Arguably the most powerful weapon in an Eldenian ship's arsenal, a DEW is also the most basic weapon fielded by the Eldenian military. Located primarily on capital ships, a DEW simply channels energy directly from the Navitas Core and directs it at an enemy vessel, unleashing devastation upon impact. This weapon is unguided, and must connect with the target for a length of time to be used effectively. As such it is generally limited to use against enemy capital ships or other large targets.

Weapons – Pulse Torpedoes – Named as such due to the “pulse” in a ship’s energy matrix upon firing these weapons, these are unequivocally the most deadly weapon system on smaller vessels. These condensed packages of energy function by locking onto an enemy vessel via a real-time Navitas link and launching from force projection tubes, using a portion of their energy to course-correct and track their target. Upon terminal approach each tube will split in two, half blasting forward in a spurt of speed to impact earlier and form a hole for the second half to follow in.

Shields - Force Projection Matrix - Consisting of projectors scattered across a ship, the Force Projection Matrix is an Eldenian equivalent of shielding. By projecting force at incoming munitions, the FPM can direct fire away from its intended target and change a potential catastrophe into a clear miss. However, it is limited by light-speed detection systems, meaning that ballistics fired from close range and laser weaponry bypass this defensive measure.
