The Borderlands of Eastern Lancasteria is a very large, socially progressive nation, notable for its digital currency, irreverence towards religion, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate population of 108 million Lancasterians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 28.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Lancasterian economy, worth 6.78 trillion karas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is dominated by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Retail. Average income is 62,798 karas, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

International tensions are high as Eastern Lancasteria threatens any government with the audacity to arrest its citizens, sales of trenchcoats are on the rise, the masses are surrendering their civil liberties without complaint for the sake of shopping convenience, and children dream of becoming physicians and physicists. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Eastern Lancasteria's national animal is the Fox, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Eastern Lancasteria is ranked 61,988th in the world and 199th in Refugia for Most Income Equality, scoring 55.11 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
