One of the most powerful nations in the world, the United Kingdom of Great Britain is situated on one island, the island of Great Britain. Although it has a great GDP and one of the strongest militaries, it suffers from internal corruption and climate change while facing rising inequalities. Despite those problems, it maitains the basic ideals of a free democratic nation, and it's future looks prosperous.
The Russian Empire is the largest country in the world in land area, and it marks that with one of the largest GDPs and best military's in the world as well. It is ruled by Tsar Karl Alexandr, who is known to be a staunch conservative. This matches with the nations right wing policies, and somewhat homophobic ideals. It is also the worlds second largest video game producer, with the third most gaming competition titles.
After winning the Chinese Civil War against the Communists, the Republic of China (and Taiwan) implemented striking reforms moving it much further to the left, in order to appease the remaining communists. Its social democratic economy has given it the largest GDP of any nation, and it also has considerable international influence. It has a dark underbelly however, of racism and corruption.
The Russo-Norse Crowned Republic of Dominioan is a union of Nordic kingdoms in Scandinavia, united under a crowned republic. They gained their independence recently, after international pressure released them from Russian occupation. Although slightly unstable, the nation manages to maintain a great economy and military, and has the best healthcare and education in the world. Dominioan also has almost no income inequality and corruption, but is also slightly weak on the international scene. It has both Russian and Nordic influence, with Russian being the third most spoken language behind Dominish and English.
Although the American Confederacy (formerly the Confederate States of America) won the Civil War on the side of slavery, that didn't last long. It soon grew more progressive than its father nation, and abolished slavery in 1862. It soon grew to be even more powerful than its rival, and grew the best military worldwide. However, it and the SUC hold good relations...although racism is a huge problem in the Confederation.
After going through multiple failed republics and kingdoms, France found power when the Noiras family seized the throne. With an expansionist mindset, they begam expanding across Europe, taking everything up until Germany. And that they took too! But then the rest of the world intervened, and although France kept some things, they were significantly weakened. But the nation itself has rich culture, and is a popular tourist destination.
After losing the Civil War, the Union was severely weakened. Many states leaving crippled its economy. But a steady influx of slaves from the AC provided a cheap workforce, and the SUC bounced right back. It also changed its name to Columbia, to avoid being associated with a slave state. But after the AC banned slavery, they became friendly nations to each other, although old rivalries sometimes flare up.
After the fall of its predecessor, Weimar reformed into its current form. It annexed Austria and its neighbours during the Fall of Nations, and used their raw resources to fuel its ever growing economy. It went through a radical change under Willheim Bithmerk, turning it much more pacifist, democratic, and capitalist. It is considered a powerful country.
An empire in the Balkans, the Balkans is a very assimilationist state. They have been plauged by culture wars and bloodshed, so they have no choice. They have a decently large area, mostly dedicated to industry or farming. Their economy is quite weak though, due to minimal regulation. The state is mostly not involved with international affairs.
The Crowned Republic of Ukraine is situated right next the Russian Empire. As such, they have faced aggression from them and other sources over the years. They have been occupied by Russia in multiple forms seven times over the past two centuries. The country gained independence during the Soviet Collapse, and promptly destroyed its economy.
