The United Peoples of Dexterra is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by the people with a fair hand, and remarkable for its daily referendums, state-planned economy, and soft-spoken computers. The compassionate, hard-working, democratic, cheerful population of 1.516 billion Dexters hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, liberal, outspoken government prioritizes Industry, with Education, Environment, and Welfare also on the agenda, while Defense and Spirituality receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Beagalia. The average income tax rate is 48.3%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Dexter economy, worth 200 trillion eaglebacks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is broadly diversified, is led by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Retail, and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 132,215 eaglebacks, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Politicians are often found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income, digital novelty coins make for surprising vanguards of the revolution, the Smalltopian embassy doubles as an electoral campaign headquarters, and gossip magazines have pictures of the people sunbathing on the beach with political rivals. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Dexterra's national animal is the beagle, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Dexterra is ranked 228,109th in the world and 7th in Dexter for Fattest Citizens, with 6.95 Obesity Rate.
