"A brain is a good thing, do you have it?" - Brian
Brian (or B or GXT) is the creator of The Republic of Dawetid.
Brian was born in Shenyang, China (map below, indicated by the upper black dot in the red region), but moved to New Zealand at the age of 4.
When Brian conceived the Dawetidish language, he was still in high school. The name of Dawetid comes from the song Dumb Ways to Die, which was popular during the conception of the idea of Dawetidish.
The Dawetidish language was written, during different times, with different scripts, as follows in order of appearance:
Additionally a Latin-based script coexisted with all these scripts and is still surviving today.
The first flag of the Republic of Dawetid was as follows:
Life after NationStates
Brian discovered NationStates in mid 2017, where he searched "create your own country" as he only wanted an idea of realizing his existing nation concept. Before this, he changed the Flag of the Republic of Dawetid to the one currently used.
On NationStates, he solidified the Dawetidish language by working on Dawetidish Textbook and changing the language from a Tai-based language to a Sinosphere (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese)-based language. Dawetidish words are formed by writing a word in Chinese, and using the equivalent Middle Chinese pronunciation. He has also changed the official title of the Republic of Dawetid from "Ğjũŋvā̀k̆vók" (cognate: 共和國) to "M̆jìnk̆vók" (cognate: 民國), following the Republic of China.
The name Quark Hsuan-doong also comes from Brian's full name, but pronounced in Middle Chinese / Dawetidish.
Brian tends to avoid discussing politics, as his main interests are Math and the Sciences.
