The Republic of Colombia I is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by President Mateo Ramos with an even hand, and renowned for its ubiquitous missile silos, digital currency, and keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, devout population of 1.853 billion Colombians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bogotá. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 69.3%.

The frighteningly efficient Colombian economy, worth 281 trillion Colombian pesos a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Retail, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is an impressive 151,835 Colombian pesos, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 472,456 per year while the poor average 37,518, a ratio of 12.6 to 1.

The jackhammer is considered a tool of artistic criticism, exports are stamped with "made by the invisible hand you commies", those who cut young children are told to cut it out, and vacationing Colombians expect to be treated as royalty. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Colombia I's national animal is the Andean Condor, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Catolicismo.

Colombia I is ranked 16,136th in the world and 12th in Latinoamerica Libre for Healthiest Citizens, with 11.08 bananas ingested per day.
