The Confederacy of City States Nation is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by JR Ewing with a fair hand, and remarkable for its deadly medical pandemics, otherworldly petting zoo, and absence of drug laws. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, humorless, devout population of 11.099 billion City Staters are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The minute, corrupt, outspoken government, or what there is of one, juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Reading. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient City States Nationian economy, worth a remarkable 4,223 trillion Lire a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Gambling, and Book Publishing. Average income is an amazing 380,504 Lire, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 1,700,831 per year while the poor average 52,795, a ratio of 32.2 to 1.

Economists have been named Invertebrates of the Year, the government loves seeing the little people fight, police regularly arrest families playing Monopoly, and JR Ewing is described as an everyday person with normal tastes and the usual interests. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. City States Nation's national animal is the Armadillo, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Industrialism.

City States Nation is ranked 64,897th in the world and 2,764th in the South Pacific for Most Extreme, scoring 21.12 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
