OOC (Out of Character)

It does seem that many others have made for themselves an OOC factbook, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Here we go! I wish I had ideas for more text to put here, but I don't! Hooray!

What Is Chobotan?
Yello! I am Chobotan. I have been on NS for more than a year (as of December 20th, 2025. Wow!), and it seems astounding to me that before now I have never created an OOC factbook. This is it! Here are some things about me:

• Nicknames (Inspired By Simonia): My nation trigram is CHB. If you decide that you would prefer to use a human name for me, call me Ell.

• Gender: I was Assigned Male At Birth (AMAB) and still use he/him pronouns.

• Sexuality: I am officially bisexual.

• Nationality: I am (very embarrassed to be) American. Our country is not great, nor has it ever been, but I live here anyways.

• Philosophy: I am atheist and technically a self-inclusive misanthrope. I don't hate social interaction, I just detest the way that the human species have conducted ourselves up to this point.

What Does Chobotan Like?
Good question. And your answer would be ... well, a lot of things. Here are some of them:

• F1: I do enjoy watching Formula One. I follow it as well. Yes, it is better than NASCAR. My favorite driver is Yuki Tsunoda.

• IMSA: Do you know what IMSA is? Well, it's basically just F1 but the races last up to 24 hours and the cars are different. So, endurance racing. Felipe Nasr is personally my favorite IMSA driver.

• Music: I play guitar and listen to rock music. I have my own acoustic and electric guitars; a Yamaha SJ-180 and a Peavey Raptor I, respectively. I am currently attempting to form a band with a friend. I also own a Syitner record player. I enjoy the music of many bands, but my top five are AC/DC, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and Motley Crue.

• Soccer (Football, Futbol, Voetbal, etc.): I follow the English Premier League (primarily Aston Villa) and also have spent many a Saturday night at an MLS game.

• Reading: I can't believe I didn't have reading on here before! This is something that I enjoy a lot, and I have a bookshelf full of literature in my bedroom. My favorite genres are dystopia, fantasy, and science fiction, and I enjoy older books. My favorite titles include Lord of the Rings and Dune.
  

What Is Chobotan's Actual Life Like?
I am a student of the eighth grade. I have a mother, father, and a sister, whom I often detest. I also have three cats, two tabbies (ages 17 and 4) and one remarkably small Russian Blue (age 4). I do have outside-of-NS friends, although one of them is a fellow NSer.

Why Is Chobotan Here?
Well, it's a long story. Once upon a time (2 years ago) I was looking for a fun browser game to play and found one. It was called NationStates. I promptly founded Castaraland, and immediately forgot about it. A few months later, I came back to the strange political simulation game I had discovered and founded New Castaraland, moving soon to Europeia I think. I also created my first alt, Timothee Chalamet. In late December of 2024, I returned to NationStates once more after a brief hiatus, creating a nation which I called "Chobotan". It was intended to be a random alt, which I would soon forget about. However, I began to grow more and more connected with NationStates, and Chobotan quickly developed into my main nation.
