The British Viceroyalty of Siam of Central Turan is a huge, socially progressive nation, ruled by Viceroy Chula Chakrabongse with a fair hand, and notable for its compulsory military service, irreverence towards religion, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 964 million Siamese are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The minute, pro-business, outspoken government, or what there is of one, juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bangkok. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 4.9%.

The thriving Siamese economy, worth 77.9 trillion East Indian Baht a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Furniture Restoration, and Retail. Average income is 80,762 East Indian Baht, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 282,881 per year while the poor average 16,741, a ratio of 16.9 to 1.

Stale 'yo mamma' insults have been replaced by 'your maternal DNA' insults, travelers are subject to extensive searches if beet stains are visible on their clothing, coffee-addicted citizens look forward to baristas getting their name wrong at local coffee shops, and Viceroy Chula Chakrabongse has just been declared ruler of Central Turan in an international press conference. Crime is a problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Central Turan's national animal is the Indian Elephant, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Central Turan is ranked 24,723rd in the world and 36th in Commonwealth of Liberty for Largest Retail Industry, scoring 6,196.63 on the Shrinkwrap Consignment Productivity Index.
