The Republic of Bythouttes is a massive, orderly nation, ruled by Siofra Macanguss with an iron fist, and remarkable for its compulsory military service, irreverence towards religion, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.156 billion Bythouttesians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Bythouttes. The average income tax rate is 47.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Bythouttesian economy, worth 83.1 trillion markas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, quite specialized black market in Trout Farming, Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Uranium Mining. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 26,343 markas, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Homeless people are periodically found dead upon altars to assorted deities, 90% of active duty BAF personnel have been laid off and replaced by robot kill-drones, members of the government all have oddly similar anecdotes about their childhoods, and Bythouttesian soldiers are assured their new ray-guns will finally power up after the next round of ominous chanting. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Bythouttes's national animal is the pengu, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is State Atheism.

Bythouttes is ranked 30,630th in the world and 78th in Oneid for Most Extreme, scoring 33.42 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
