The People's Republic of Burmah is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates, devotion to social welfare, and stringent health and safety legislation. The cynical, devout population of 321 million Burmahians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Defense, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 72.6%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Burmahian economy, worth 6.47 trillion Kyats a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is solely comprised of the Trout Farming industry. Average income is 20,162 Kyats, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites, in life full of care there is no time to stop and stare, weighted heels are added to military boots to ensure diminutive celebrities meet minimum requirements, and the Foreign Ministry thinks an eye for an eye is a blindingly good idea. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Burmah's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Burmah is ranked 53,233rd in the world and 1st in Republic of the Union of Burma for Highest Drug Use, scoring 77.6 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
