The Oberkönigreich of Anglomir (Anglisch: Angloskrag) is a nationalistic nation in West Ustaynga that covers an area of 130,279 km2, bordered by the Second Khesulan Empire to the north and west, the Kingdom of Ascalon to the south, and the archipelago of Yellowridge to the east. The nation is renowned for its rich history, and fiercely partisan population, resulting in many civil wars and regime changes. In 2005, the nation reinstuted to the monarchy to become a Constitutional Empire. The outspoken but reservedly dignified 94 million Anglomirians are highly moralistic, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. Despite their permitting nature, underneath the surface of most Anglomirians lies a raging boisterous anglo-celtic peoples; a proud, rough, drunk and rowdy race. Although socially conservative and nationalistic, due to the prevalence of Aganism in the nation, Anglomir tends to be somewhat left leaning in its economic policies, with limited progressive social policies. Many have criticised modern Anglomir for the creation a authoritarian, submissive, traditionalist political environment ripe for the seeds of fascism to take ahold. As a result of the heavy prudent atmosphere, people who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion. The nation, led by the heavily jingoistic National Front since 2005, has been described as autocratic, with Anglomir's human rights record being inadequate according to a number of independent observers and human rights groups, with notable arrest and supression of political opposition. The official language is Anglisch, which is almost exclusively endemic to the nation-state, historically being spoken in very few other areas of the globe. Anglomir's capital and largest city is Yurk, a significant economic hub and the political centre of the increasingly all-encompassing centralised government.

Anglomir is not conservative in the 'traditional' sense. Due to the prevalence of the Agan Church (a fused religion of Nordic Paganism and Christianity), the values described as conservative are very culturally specific. For instance, Aganist policy dictates sexual promiscuity, naturalistic nakedness, runic tattoos, long braided hair for both men and women, and physical aggression and strength to prove oneself worthy of a woman's hand. Due to the hot climate of central Anglomir, such practices have cultural prevalence, with minimalistic clothing and heavily tattooed blonde and red-haired women and men being regarded as the norm. Thus, many 'conservative' parties, who are heavily influenced by the church, advocate for policy such as increasing public nudity, mandatory martial arts training, and banning gay marriages. Aganism was born in Anglomir and remains hyper-specific to Anglomir - the 'aryan' and 'ginger' are idealised, and non-gingers/aryans with bloodlines not hailing from Anglomir or LinkCerdic himself are exiled from the order.

The Anglisch language, and Anglomirian Law – the basis for the one of the two common law legal systems of many other countries around the world (the other being English Law) – developed in Anglomir. Anglomir is a constitutional monarchy, where the legislative power lies in that of the Parliament. The Royal Family, officially, holds limited political influence, with Royals having the right to run for office off their own merit. However, since restoring the bloodline, the National Front prioritises using the Royals as a political tool to channel legislation through. Most decisions are made by the Anglish High Council, and ultimately, the Prime Minister.

The name "Anglomir" was originally a part of the protest slogan "Un Anglomir!" in the late 1690s, where the 100 years war between the two Anglonorse-Celtic Kingdoms was halted by a coordinated march on the capitols of both nations. The phrase caused for the reunification of the Angloskrag, directly translating to "One Anglonorse-Celtic Klandom", causing the reunified state of Caucasia and the Angloskrag to fuse under the name of 'Anglomir'. The 'Angloskrag' is derived from the Kingdom formed under Yurk, the first Viking-King of the Anglosklan, and the earliest attested reference to the Anglos occurs in the 4th century. The etymology of the tribal name 'Anglos' itself itself is still disputed by scholars.

Prehistory and antiquity

It is widely regarded that the birth of Link‘Cerdic the Great’ in 22CE marks the beginning of Norse-Anglo history. Despite being inhabited by early homo sapiens practicing nomadic pastoralism from as early as 6000BCE, it was not until his birth that the Anglo-Saxon people began to emerge as a distinct culture. Cerdic was the founder of the Anglosklan (Anglo Clan), to which all subsequent Anglo Kings would go on to claim lineage to. Apparently well-desired and promiscuous, over 98% of modern Anglomirians would be direct descendants of Cerdic, according to recent DNA profiling.

The ancestors of modern Anglomirians are the Anglonorse-Celtic tribes, whose original home is thought by some scholars to have been the wooded areas of the Yurk Marshes. These tribes developed a Nordic Paganism theology. The East Anglonorse-Celtics gradually settled Western Anglomir in two waves from the eastern coast. From the 7th century onwards, the East Angloceltics constituted the bulk of the population in Western Anglomir. However, the population did not migrate beyond the borders of modern day Anglomir; as such, the Tekonaltepetlahtolli tribe from present-day Abundante y soberana continued developing as a separate culture.

The Anglonorse-Celtic people became the aboriginals of the Anglomirian bushland, characterised by Pagan warpaint, thick red and blonde braided hair, with heavily muscled men and scantily clad buxom females. The highly sexualised culture of the Anglonorse would lead to some of the greatest conquests in Nordic-Anglo history, as men driven by lust would seek to raid, pillage and conquer neighbouring tribes and Kingdoms to prove themselves to the women back home. They worshipped Norse Gods, existed in small temporary towns, and typically answered to a Chieftain, or ‘Oberfuhrer’, who was a direct descendent of the now-revered Cerdic. As such, most of the Chieftains of the various clans inhabiting the Anglomirian area were either siblings or cousins, leading their clans in bitter infighting which would lead to the development of several key characteristics of the Norse-Anglo culture.

The Norse Anglo-Celtics were devout Pagans, believing heavily in black crow symbolism and polytheist deities; each was in some way related to war and harvest. Due to the common fighting of this era, in the 4th century, clear territories began to establish themselves relative to the power of the clans living within them. This marked the beginning of the end to the still semi-nomadic lifestyles of the clans, as they began to roam only within their own borders, and established the ‘burning cycle’. Due to the natural heat of the Anglomirian Steppe, bushfires were common, and much of the local wildlife had adapted to flourish from such events every couple of years. The Anglonorse were able to harness ‘controlled burning’, where they would build a small village, harvest the land until it was depleted, then migrate to another area at the start of the bushfire season, rotating around their territory, giving a 3-4 year time for the landscape to regrow. Native instruments and weapons such as the didgeridoo, boomerang, a rudimentary form of the bagpipes and stone axe were developed in this time.

During the 5th century, trade routes began to grow between territories, where copper, wood, iron, and bush tucker would be traded between clans. Nomadism became less prevalent, with the villages being inhabited each burn ‘cycle’ becoming increasingly advanced and large. There is evidence to suggest that this lifestyle still continued until the advent of First Contact.

In the 7th century, equatorial coastal settlements made First Contact with a non-Anglonorse-Celtic culture. Natives to the eastern isles (modern day Yellowridge), sailed over and settled on the south eastern coast of what is now Anglomir. Existing as an independent culture for 60-70 years, their communities slowly dispersed through all the native Anglomirian tribes, as they were assimilated into the culture via trading and conquest common to the era. Their descendants left the ancient Ridgean style of building to fade out for the more advanced northern style, while the core parts of the Anglonorse-Celtic language and theological cultural field were influenced in the Ridgean sense, with the introduction of Christianity. However, the adoption of Christianity was amalgamated with the native Nordic Paganism, forming a hybrid theology of Christian-Paganism, commonly known as ‘Christo-Paganism’ or ‘Aganism’. Ridgeans also contributed heavily to the advancement of the Anglo maritime technology, enabling the following Age of Vikings.

As the Ridgean settlements were assimilated, contact was lost with their home islands; tales of their homeland were slowly degraded and corrupted until eventually all that was known amongst the Anglonorse-Celtic eastern coastal mythos was that the Isles of Yggsdrasil, their creators, were found across the ocean to the east. This sparked the development of Viking Longboats, advanced naval technology, and seafaring prowess, as early Anglo explorers set out to the find the mythical land. However, after a set of coincidental bad weather, followed by confrontation with attackers as they arrived at the island, they fled, believing the land was that of the gods. A few decades later, the Khesulans landed in and colonised Yellowridge, meaning that the Anglomirians never got a chance to engage in relations or associate with the native Ridgeans, as by the time the reformation of ideas came around, they could no longer sail close to the Isles due the Khesulan navy.

The Great Norse War
The establishment of the first East Anglonorse-Celtic states in the 9th century began with the founding of the Vanguard; traders, warriors and settlers from the eastern coastal region. Primarily they were Vikings who ventured along the coast from southern to northern Anglomir, expanding their loose association of Oberfuher Dominions.

The summer of 977CE brought about one of the worst droughts at that point in history, with thousands of clans under the Nordic-Anglo states going extinct due to dying of thirst and hunger. This would trigger the Great Norse War, otherwise known as the Great Viking War; the Vanguard states of the hot south turned upon each other in a scramble to reach the much cooler northern regions, where much frozen water could be found. The most successful powerful state to emerge from this struggle would be Jarldom of Yurk. In 997 CE, Yurk, a prominent chieftain of the Southern Anglosklan, a member state of the Vanguard, led his people in a six-year conquest of the surrounding tribes. Such an attempt had been tried before by previous Anglonorse-Celtic leaders or warriors, but usually fell apart once they attempted to capture the cold northern regions. In 1003CE, following his success, Yurk declared himself Angloskaiser (King of the Angloskrag, or ‘Viking King’), forming the first Unified Klandom, with territory including Northern Anglomir. However, he faced fierce resistance from a splinter tribe of the Anglosklan, the Tekonaltepetlahtolli, who occupy modern day Cerro Negro in Abundante y soberana. Throughout his reign, was never able to annex this tribe, who continued to perform raids along the border for decades to come.

During the 11th century under Yurk, sweeping reforms were undertaken to transform the viking-raiding culture into a feudal system.

This state was well-functioning and the nation's military power allowed the Anglosklansmen to conduct successful fierce campaigns and raids from present-day Steklan to distant neighbouring Klandoms. Under Yurk, the Anglos defeated no fewer than three major raiding armies 1023 and 1029, ushering in a Golden Age of arts, music, technology, and territorial expansion.

The Golden Age
The death of Angloskaiser Yurk in 1031, combined with a defeat from the opportunistic Tekonaltepetlahtolli in the west in 1032, led to the small breakaway secessionist Kingdom of Caucasia forming in the southwest. The territory was named after and led by Caucus, fourth son of Yurk, who objected to the ascendancy of his eldest brother to the throne. Caucasia would go on to develop a more fundamentalist form of Aganism, but notably avoided confrontation with the Tekonaltepetlahtolli for the entirety of its existence. The Angloskrag and Caucasia saw little interaction for the next 500 years.

The period saw changes in trade and legislation, including the signing of the Auctoritate Leges, an Anglisch legal charter used to limit the sovereign's powers by law and protect the privileges of freemen. Anglican monasticism flourished, and the universities of Foxfjord and Clamsburg were founded with royal patronage providing philosophers, a chance to explore diverse academic theories, with some even postulating a non-terra centric model of the universe.

The rise of the Agan church saw a strong return to Agan values at the time of Cerdic the Great, with a heavy emphasis on sexual livelihood, vitality, and religious imagery such as crows, ravens and runic circles. The Aganism movement began to normalise public nakedness, with it being seen as appropriate that young, virile Anglonorse-Celtics flaunt their sexual prowress, as well as a good mechanism of coping with the central Anglo heat. As temperatures continued to rise, with several minor droughts over the Golden Age, most citizens took to Agan clothing, which consisted mainly of light loincloths and brasseries for support of the genitals. The Anglo culture of tattooing and inking can be traced back to this era.

Several enlightened patrons of the arts and learning arose during this era, reintroducing artistic, educational and scholarly debate from classical antiquity. For instance, an unnamed hermit monk maintained a library, dubbed the Omnus Bibliotheca, which was region's greatest collection of historical chronicles, philosophic and scientific works in the 15th century. The works continue chronicling events until the early 1700s, and it can be assumed that other clerics took up his work after his passing. This historical awareness led to the Angloskrag rekindling the longboat technology of the Vanguard, further develoiping naval skills and prowess. Exploration of the oceans flourished. This 'Golden Age' era had lasting societal impacts on the Angloskrag, with a significant proportion of peasants and serfs becoming literate, changing the face of academia and the general public for years to come.

The 100 Years War
1598 saw the ascension of King Caauk to the throne of Caucasia. A staunch militant and racial supremacist, he saw it as the destiny of Caucasia to reclaim the Anglo throne from Oberfuhrer Cynric of the Angloskrag. Thus, the unprovoked attack the western Angloskrag in late 1598 led to war between the two territories; conflict would not cease until 100 years later.

Agriculture and architecture during this time period became very war-focused, with most production going to the army, and infrastructure being built sturdily and fortified.

The rapid development of high culture and intellectualism had seen that economic growth focused around the central territories of the Angloskrag. The southeastern territories had become somewhat neglected and without strong governance. In their isolation, they began to develop a more fundamentalist version of Aganism, leading to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The atrocities went largely unnoticed until after the conclusion of the war, where legislative efforts were made to rebuild shattered communities from both Caucasia and the Angloskrag.

Decades of impoverishment from the war led to highly anti-monarchist sentiment arising on both sides of the war. Recognising a shared ethnicity and heritage, an expansive revolutionary network developed between the two countries. They sought to end the war by reuniting Caucasia and the Angloskrag. In late 1697, violent revolutions began in both nations, culiminating with a march on both capitals with the slogan ‘One People, One Anglomir’. The phrase ‘Anglomir’ directly translated to ‘Anglonorse-Celtic Klandom’. With a successful usurping of the King of Caucasia in early 1698 followed by the ousting of the Angloskrag Oberfuhrer later that year, both countries went into a brief state of turmoil. The revolutionary governments failed to hold much power in Caucasia, and thus executed the entire Royal Family to gain public support. However, the royals of the Angloskrag were recognised for their strong leadership, and due to the failure of the provisional government to hold power, were reinstated into office to stabilise the nation.

Drafting of a reunification treaty between the now nigh-anarchic Caucasia and the Angloskrag began in late 1698, and in 1700, the new Keingdom of Anglomir was founded, named after the ‘Anglomir’ revolutionary chant. The position of ‘Konigfuhrer’ was created to act as the Head of State, similar to the previous Oberfuhrer of the Angloskrag and King of Caucasia. However, the Konigfuhrer was harshly restricted and bound by the constitution, and the office was up for democratic election, enabling all ‘noble’ direct descendants of Cerdic the Great to run for the office; the election was open to any person of Anglonorse-Celtic ethnicity, and led to the founding of the current royal family, House Arcaeus, as well as the family who took the position at the time, House Whitmore.

The ‘Cerdic Council’ or ‘Founding Fathers’, a group of elite upper revolutionaries began forming a temporary shadow council for the construction of mass infrastructure and roads between towns and villages from both Caucasia and the Angloskrag in an effort to reunite the nation. Furthermore, the rapid writing of several constitutional and legislative acts, one of which endorsed slavery of non Anglonorse-Celtic races, further strengthened the sense of stability by reducing poverty for the majority. This extremely low wage means of production, combined with business opportunity, enabled the economic boom of the 18th century, which further enabled the industrial revolution, beginning in 1770.

Late Modern and contemporary (LinkNeeds expansion)

Massive military boosting to enforce order and stabilise the new nation saw the creation of a huge army, which was accompanied by heavily charged scientific and technological advancement. Combined with the economic boom, domestically, this drove the Industrial Revolution, a period of profound change in the socioeconomic and cultural conditions of Anglomir. The Industrial Revolution saw the advent of industrialised agriculture, manufacture, engineering and mining, as well as new and pioneering road, rail and water networks to facilitate their expansion and development. The first industrialised textile factory was opened in 1770, with heavily mechanised production villages being opened in the 1790s. The Canal Age was ushered in following the industrialisation of the nation’s waterways and opening of the Murray River Canal, leading to an increase in living standards through irrigation and waste disposal. Anglomirian engineering saw the world's first permanent steam locomotive-hauled passenger railway open in 1823, the Jokkheimer-Saxon Railway.

By 1850, the nation was completely unified and connected through industrialised railroads, factories and industries.

The Great War
[strikethrough] In 1914, Anglomir entered World War I as an independent power in response to the Central Coalition's attempt at expansion into the Western continent beyond Yellowridge. In 1916, the Jurisk Offensive of the Anglomirian Army fortified the coastal regions of the nation, to major success; no further attacks were made on the nation during the war.
WIP – notes, by the end of the great war, the monarch has been forced to abdicate, Republic of Anglomir declared

The Anglomirian Republic saw an increase in sweeping nationalism and pride for the country, under the revolutionary anti-monarchist slogan ‘Every Man, A King’. From END OF WAR to 1962, the Labour Party held an absolute majority in the parliament. The first government, led by Prime Minister Samúel Button, embarked on a program inspired by Keynesian economics, emphasising state financed industrialisation and co-operation between trade unions and employers' organisations. Many measures of state control of the economy imposed during the war were continued, although the rationing of housing and cars were lifted 5 years after the war, and dairy products was lifted in 1949, where upon. Price control and rationing of alcohol was lifted in 1963, where privatization and market and trade liberalization were undertaken, including radical changes along the lines of "shock therapy". This resulted in a minor economic crisis, characterized by a 10% decline in both GDP and industrial output between between 1963 and 1965. However, the resource richness of the land was quickly exploited by the more capitalistic economy. The 60s were characterised by idyllic, pastel, single-story suburban living, with the idea of the nuclear family becoming paramount; housewives with breadwinner husbands who worked day jobs were increasingly common. High oil prices in conjunction with the initially weak currency and increasing domestic demand, consumption, and investments, helped the economy grow for nine straight years, improving the standard of living and increasing Anglomir's influence on the world stage. Still influenced by the leftist economic ideals of the radical anti-monarchist revolutionaries, the Parliament began rescinding some of the initial privatisation of the economy, maintaining government control of all essential and many non-essential services. When combined with some free market initiatives, state guidance of the economy saw a drastic increase in GDP and HDI, and the strong Anglomirian economy has been growing on a slow but sure upwards trend since the late 1970s. Throughout this time period, the Agan Church continued to unethically grow, exploit and profit from tax exemption status and strong ties with the National Party.

Since the high emphasis on traditional values, patriotism, and history, through propaganda under, Anglomirian culture has become increasingly conservative and nationalistic. With an underlying desire for political stability and a strong sense of unity and national pride, Anglomir was sent into upheaval with the Millennial Election Crisis. Although both sides desired stability, none were prepared to give any ground to achieve such a goal. With the capitalist economy booming with the advent of the year 2000, rapidly increasing levels of privitisation of nationalised industry were occurring. This sparked mass political debate; the Liberal Party argued that the economic success indicated capitalisms success, whilst the Labour Party raised the increasing social inequality and concentration of wealth in upper societal echelons. Several corporatist, neo-fascist, national socialist, and communist parties also chimed in. Thus, from 1999 to 2005, Anglomir saw a highly unstable political climate, with eight Prime Ministers taking power in six years. The crisis concluded with the National Front, a coalition of socially right-wing groups, taking ahold of the leadership and effectively placing the country under martial law. Several sweeping reforms were quickly made; including the changing of the title ‘Prime Minister’ to ‘Königspräsident’, 'Oberführer', or simply ‘President’. Most notably, the party was able to reinstitute the monarchy. The party idealised their chosen monarch, the wealthy CEO of the East Anglo Company who had essentially funded the National Front, Austen Arcaeus Tylvik Agnor, as a symbol of national unity and stability. Propaganda was used to portray this new Head of State as a return to old values, characterising him as the ‘Oberkonigfuhrer’. The Anglomirian people overwhelmingly supported his inauguration. From 2006-2015, the newly formed Königsparliament imposed heavy restrictions on foreign travel and news from outside the country. The authority of the royal family has been taken seriously, with an increasing constitutional power for the 'Sun King'. Since Eindride's inauguration, elections have been heavily restricted. The nation has become a unitary state, where citizens may elect their representatives, but only from the National Front, into office. The two General Elections since 2005, both of which were won with an overwhelming tide of support for the Party in its current state, are theorised to have been tampered in regards to vote fraud and counting. The system is seen primarily now as a Linkguided democracy, with the National Front being open to elections within the Party, but prohibiting other groups from taking power. Other political parties have been drafted into the National Front as 'Lobbyist Wings', with think tanks at each end of the ideological spectrum able to act as lobbyists for certain policy for the people. This is to ensure stability as well as public representation.

The highest peaks are usually covered by snow year-round.

The majority of the nation has a Mediterranean climate with with mild wet winters and hot dry summers. Southern areas of the nation exhibit arid and semi-arid climates, with temperature being mildly hot. Far northern Anglomir exhibits mildly cold, borderline tundra environments, with the central span of the nation being temperate.

The southern areas of the Anglo land are generally more temperate to warm, with summer daytime temperatures usually between 25 and 30°C and winter Temperatures between 5 and 10°C.

Ethnic Anglo-Celtics comprise 94% of the country's population. As a result of ethnopurity programs implemented by the Konigsparliament, there has been an increase in birth rates for people with Anglo heritage, and a rapid decrease in the population of minority groups, with many being deported. Anglomir's population is comparatively small for its size, leading to a low population density. Population is densest near the coastal areas, and in the southwest mountain ranges. 73% of the population lives in urban areas while 27% in rural ones. The results from the 2010 census show a population of approximately 13,116,700.

The Anglisch language originated in Anglomir within the ancient Anglo-Celtic Clans of antiquity. Over 99% of the population speaks Anglisch as their principle tongue, with 22% bilingual in German or English as well. After the Yurkian conquest, the Old Anglisch language was displaced and confined to the lower social classes as new Anglisch was founded and used by the aristocracy.

By the 15th century, Anglisch was back in fashion among all classes, though much changed; the Middle English form showed many signs of English origins. Modern Anglisch has extended this custom of flexibility when it comes to incorporating words from different languages. Written examples of Old East Anglisch (Old Anglisch) are attested from the 10th century onwards.

Religion (See main article - Religion in Anglomir)

New Norse Paganism, also known as 'Aganism', is the Anglomirian blend of Orthodox Anglican Christianity and Old Norse Paganism, resulting from the incomplete conversion of the state to a Christian monarchy in the 10th century. Much of the original native mythos was retained, and thus, Christian legends and biblical figures were overplayed against the polytheistic Nordic worship. The outcome is a polytheistic religion, with heavy emphasis on worshipping the one overarching 'God' (commonly referred to as such), also known as 'Odin'. The religion shares many Saints and reverend figures with Christianity, but incorporates many anthropomorphic gods and goddesses, who express human emotions and in some cases are married and have children.

Anglomirians are an 'ethnically pure' race of ancient 'Desert Vikings', aryans, and gingers. It is almost unheard of to see a native Anglomirian with naturally black hair. Most Anglos exhibit some variety of blonde hair, such as dirty blonde, platinum blonde, or any range in between, with the other majority exhibiting copper coloured or tinted 'red hair'. Anglo skin tends to be pale to lightly tanned, with heavily tanned Anglos usually occurring only from a life of outdoor labour. Hazel eyes are common and revered, along with ocean blue or misty multicoloured eyes. Anglomirian men tend to be tall and athletically fit, with medium to long hair, the exception of which tends to lie with law enforcement or members of the government, who exhibit some form of buzzcut. Ranging from lean to bulky musculature, male Anglomirian athletes have nearly always consistently placed in the top four for International Sporting League events. Female Anglos, as a result of the Ethnopurity Policies, are typically pretty, attractive, short to medium height, and curvy, ranging from 'thick' to 'plump'. Convetionally, Anglomirian girls will have most of their weight distributed around the hips and buttocks, with proportional amount in the chest area.

According to the Constitution of Anglomir, the country is a constitutional monarchy in which the Prime Minister is the head of government and the Oberkönigfuhrer is the head of state. The Oberkönigreich of Anglomir is fundamentally structured as a multi-party representative democracy, with the federal government composed of three branches:

Legislative: The bicameral Federal Assembly of Anglomir, made up of the 450-member House of Representatives and the 170-member High Council, adopts federal law, declares war, approves treaties, has the power of the purse and the power of impeachment of the Prime Minister.

Executive: The Prime Minister, or Oberkönigpräsident, is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, can veto legislative bills before they become law, and appoints the Government of Angomir (Cabinet) and other officers, who administer and enforce federal laws and policies. The King is granted the same legislative powers, but is inhibited from using them under usual circumstances due to backlash from the public.

Judiciary: The Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and lower federal courts, whose judges are appointed by the High Council on the recommendation of the President, interpret laws and can overturn laws they deem unconstitutional.

The Prime Minister is elected by popular vote for a four-year term. Ministries of the government are composed of the Directors and their deputies, ministers, and selected other individuals; all are appointed by the Prime Minister on the recommendation. Leading political parties in Anglomir include the National Front, the Angloskraggen, the Conservative Party, and the Labour Party. In 2013, Anglomir was ranked as 122nd of 167 countries in the Democracy Index, compiled by The Economist Intelligence Unit. The government has been described as a 'fascist democracy', with large scale election rigging and corruption taking place to ensure a monopoly of power for the ruling party.

Foreign Relations and Military

Anglomir pursued a relatively isolationist policy throughout the Middle Ages and into the early 19th century. After opening up its trade borders, Anglo-supremacist attitudes kept integration of foreign culture, through means of diplomacy or trade, to a minimum. After taking power in the 2005 election, the National Front enforced nigh complete isolationism, implementing an immigration ban, prohibition on emigration, and restrictions on travel in and out of the country. In early August, Prime Minister Oswald Eindride had to temporarily leave his post in office to deal with matters of national security in the secret services divisions, leaving Vice Prime Minister Auel Clasik in charge. During this time, Clasik opened borders, established a presence in the North Ustayngan Regional Congress, and once again let the world back into Anglomirian affairs. However, this was quickly noticed by Prime Minister Eindride, who deftly attempted to resume service and oust Clasik. Clasik, however, refused to give up the Prime Ministership. This triggered a mass government shutdown, which caused chaos in the rest of the nation. Over the period of two months, many ministers deemed unloyal to the party were purged, executed by Eindride. Furthermore, he took the opportunity to clamp down on political opposition within the populace, destroying prominent gay union leaders and LGBTQ activists. However, during this time period, the division of the highly centralised government resulted in the loss of basic services and amenities to the distant southern counties. The neighbouring Yellowridgean colony of Ascalon cited that they feared for their own borders, and 'huminatarianly' occupied the entire southern half of Anglomir. After re-establishing the Konigsparliament, Eindride was appalled to learn of the expansionism of his neighbours, but acted cautiously due to the weakened state of the nation. A meeting was held in Yurk between Eindride and Head Diplomat Abigail Bolton, in which a draft for a 'Treaty of the Southern Counties' was proposed. However, after failure to pass the Ridgean Parliament, amendments were made, which finally enabled the redubbed 'Treaty of Yurk' to take effect.

Amongst a binding contract to dedicate Anglisch armed forces to Ridgean expansion in the south, some of the notable clauses of the Treaty of Yurk state:

    - The 8x8km Anglomirian coastal region called Tjorrkisphere will be ceded to Yellowridge, where a Naval Base will be constructed to act as a resupply station and a location to assist Anglomirian civilians in times of national crisis, should necessity arise.
    - Ridgean Armed Forces will leave Anglomir and reestablish the previous natural border between the Colonial State of Ascalon (61) and Anglomir (58), excluding Tjorrikisphere.

Relationships with much of North Ustaynga are neutral to cold. The Anglisch position on Khesulan culture and the Empire of Khesula is negative, seeing their race as 'straying from the true white path', and as a threat the global takeover of anglo-saxons. Historically condemning many of their ideological and government decisions, many right-wing conspiracies exist within the nations upper reaches of parliament concerning a 'Great Replacement' of Anglischpeople and whites with Khesulans.

In December of 2018, the irredentist military initiative 'Operation Sannexation' was initiated by the Königsparliament. The program aimed to reclaim The Social Republic of Khesula (not to be confused with the Empire of Khesula) a large nation inhabited by nomadic Anglomirian ancestors in ancient times, but became enthralled in the global Khesulan Empire. The Aganist Church partnered with the National Front in launching an attempted takeover and annexation of the Republic. Heavy propaganda techniques were used as a means of psychological warfare; Anglisch infiltrators were able to gain footholds in high positions of power and local governance, stirring pro-Anglisch and anti-Khesulan sentiment within the populace. As of the 5 of April 2019, Anglomir currently holds 74% of all land in the nation, drastically increasing the size of the Oberkönigreich.

Relations with the nation of Iavania have been generally warm. Due to a shared anti-Khesulan goal, as well as authoritarian left-wing economics, the People's Republic of Iavania and Anglomir had offered aid to each other in times of need, and commendations to governmental decisions that proved controversial to the rest of North Ustaynga. For instance, the change to a syndicalist Anglomirian economy was heavily applauded by the Iavanian Evergreen Government. Relations have stilled somewhat with the advent of the collapse of the IPR into the Great Commune of Iavania, a series of autonomous communal states. The Anglisch government has expressed its desire to continue good relations with the nation, though is doubtful as to its new passivity and demilitarisation under heavy puppetry by the Dominion of The Twilight Storm.

Beginning in April, 2019, a series of terrorist attacks between the arabic nation of Kaveli and Anglomir.

Anglomir has an upper-middle income mixed and transition economy with state ownership in strategic areas of the economy. The system is based on the predominance of public ownership and state-owned enterprises within a market economy. Since 2005, far-right business policies with leftist state interventionism have been implemented in what is referred to as a 'Guided Market Economy'. Market reforms in the 1990s privatized much of Anglomirian non-essential industry and agriculture, with notable exceptions to this privatization occurring in the energy and defense-related sectors. Despite privatisation, most agricultural companies are drafted under the State Enterprise Act, giving governmental authorities supreme control in directing the goals of the organisation.

The Konigsparliament of Anglomir passes legislation generally supportive of a broadly state capitalist mixed economy, where workers are divided into syndicates based on their trade. The authorities favour state interventionism into markets and private enterprise, alongside a semi-coporatist framework referred to as the "third position", which ostensibly aims to be a middle-ground between socialism and capitalism by mediating labour and business disputes to promote national unity. In the immediate transition from central planning to mixed markets, the nation adopted large public works programs to stimulate their economies in the 1940s, and has continued supporting state interventionism in largely private-sector dominated economies to promote re-armament and national interests.

The current Prime Minister outlines the goals for the country as having an economic system based on a combination of state-enterprises for large industries, worker and consumer cooperatives, private enterprises for small-scale operations and individually owned enterprises. As the country turns increasingly conservative, the line between State Owned Enterprises and private organisations have blurred somewhat, as corporate and national interests both turn to the unity and economic productivity of the country whilst conserving a moralistic democracy. Recent market reforms have organised the economy into a series of national labour unions, referred to as 'syndicates'. Each major trade industry, such as retail, mining, and construction (amongst others) have a country-wide union, to which all members of jobs in that area belong. Democratically elected heads of each "corporation" then see representation at the Council of Corporates, where these industry heads advocate for policy desired by their type of workers.

Starting from Eindride's second term, very few corruption cases have been the subject of outrage. Eindride's system is remarkable for its ubiquitous and open merging of the civil service and business, as well as its use of relatives, friends, and acquaintances to benefit from budgetary expenditures and take over state property. Partnerships with major corporations often lead to co-operation between the private enterprise and the state.

The culture of Anglomir is defined by the idiosyncratic cultural norms of Anglomir and the Anglisch people. Rooted in Anglo-Celtic Western culture, characteristics commonly associated with being Anglisch include stoicism, reservedness, seriousness, and tradition. Due to the rising belief of Anglo-Saxon supremacy in the nation, racism and jokes about foreigners are becoming increasingly common. Nationalistic and proud, some describe the country as 'overly critical', but 'good humoured at heart'. Anglomirians heil to the Oberkönigfuhrer and are fiercely loyal to the crown.

Culture in Anglomir has been shaped by major intellectual and popular currents in the nation, both religious and secular. Historically, Anglomir has been called Das Luntd der Pyökets und Tingker (the country of poets and thinkers).

Old Norse was the original unified language of Anglomir. The languages of Anglisch, English, Skeydyonarch, and German would evolve from Norse, becoming distinct languages by the 8th century. The creation of the First Unified Kingdom made Anglisch the official language in 1081. Over the years, Skeydyonarch and its sub-dialects became extinct, as the kingdoms who spoke it natively chose to fully adopt Anglisch.
With the creation of the First Constitution after the Anglomirian Civil War, the founders of the new constitutional monarchy kept Anglisch as the official language of the nation, and made German and English official languages as well. Today they exist primarily as regional languages, though they are both taught nationwide to all Anglomirians.

Runic Alphabet

The runic alphabet is one of two official alphabets of the Anglisch language (the other being the Anglisch extended Latin alphabet). Anglisch runic is taught in the nation's schools and is often used on a day to day basis, whereas the Anglisch latin alphabet is primarily used by foreigners. Most Anglomirians can easily read the latin alphabet, but prefer to write in runic.

Anglomir has a long and rich musical history. The Oberkönigreich has undergone a roots revival in the last half of the 20th century. Anglisch Folk music has been an instrumental and leading part of this phenomenon, which peaked at the end of the 1960s and into the 1970s.

Anglomirians have distinctive traditions of folk music. Typical ethnic Anglo musical instruments are didgeridoo, saxophone, trumpet, balikleila, bayan accordion, Gypsy guitar and garmoshka. Folk music had great influence on the Anglomirian classical composers, and in modern times it is a source of inspiration for a number of popular folk bands. Anglomirian folk songs made a recent resurgence in the the 60s and 70s with an increase in national spirit, and constitute the bulk of repertoire of the world-renowned Rose Army choir and other popular Anglomirian ensembles. The popularity of nationalistic patriotic folk music continued through the 20th century and into the 21st century, with many modern artists remixing or capturing themes of the 'fatherland' in their own creations.

One of the four Coronation Anthems, Waltzing Matilda composed for the coronation of Matilda I, has been performed at every subsequent Anglomirian coronation, traditionally during the sovereign's anointing. The song details the class struggle between Lords and the workers, and is recognised as the unofficial Anglomirian anthem.

Since the late 1950s, Anglomir has experienced another wave of Celtic cultural resurgence, which led to the development of many previously unknown phenomena in the music industry. The most vivid example, perhaps, is the Anglomirian patriotic rock-orchestral music, which takes its roots both in the slave struggle of the 1800s, and in traditions of the Anglisch bards of the Luftflugel era. Yurk, Misolk, and Foreklore became centres of rock-orchestral development in the 60s. Popular Anglomirian rock-orchestral groups include Papyers, Ngyeshov, and Gokudus. What was known in the 1950s as estrada became a full-fledged industry, with orchestral-rock synthesising elements of heavy, gritty bass, with traditional Anglican choir, folk instruments, and instruments of the orchestra.

Anglomirian architecture is seen as the most prevalent example of Nordic and Anglo-Saxon construction in the world. With many castles and churches dating back to as early as the 6th century, the country enjoys a rich and unique cultural experience. In the construction of new suburban homes and skyscrapers, traditionalist principles are still adhered to; genetically engineered mammoth tusk ivory and synthetic anglostaigr hide is integral to the aesthetic of many buildings. The traditionalist nordic archway, composed of two arching ivory columns over a thick double wooden door is employed. Due to the heat of the Anglomirian climate, however, the Anglomirian Nordic model differs significantly from the Scandinavian model in terms of theromoconduction and design. Buildings are usually at least partially or totally submerged within the ground. That is to say, basement levels and indeed underground complexes and floors, even in civilian households, are common. This stems from the early Anglosklan civilisation era where heat was avoided by digging into damp soil to create cool 'dugouts' to escape from the sun. Many houses employ Roman-esque arches and roofing; this is sometimes alternated with Yggsdrasil-thatching, a rooftop composed of compacted and hardened native grass bales. Aside from this, many neighbourhoods are reminiscent of Medieval Scandinavian architecture; due the relatively low rainfall of the nation, it is assumed that this was a cultural preservation from one of the assimilated overseas counties in the Empire Era.

With its abundant physical resources, Anglomir has enjoyed a high standard of living since the nineteenth century. Anglomir is a major exporter of agricultural products, particularly wheat and wool, minerals such as iron-ore and gold, and energy in the forms of liquified natural gas and coal. The nation has made a comparatively large investment in social infrastructure, including education, training, health and transport.

Despite the commonality of Old Nordic and Russian-Orthodox-reminiscient infrastructure, modern Anglomirian infrastructure has also become prevalent in the nation. Using many of the traditional principles, stylised skyscrapers, offices, carparks and government buildings scatter the area. New Classical facilities and ambitious modern 'glasshouse' projects dot the skyline, as well as symmetrical 'Imperial State Buildings', which have a unique pointed dome shaped appearance. The Anglomirian public transport system is maintained by the government, as are all essential services such as water management, electricity, and, to an extent, food production. The nation is cited as one of the most extensive public transport networks in the world, with efficiency being one of its weaker points.
