The Dictatorship of Aeschlandia is a massive, cultured nation, renowned for its pith helmet sales, daily referendums, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 1.635 billion Aeschlandians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small government prioritizes Spirituality, although Education, Defense, and Law & Order are also considered important, while Social Policy and Welfare aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7.3%.

The powerhouse Aeschlandian economy, worth 184 trillion pounds a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Retail, Arms Manufacturing, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is an impressive 112,561 pounds, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 377,147 per year while the poor average 24,951, a ratio of 15.1 to 1.

Many of the poor live from cradle to grave without ever seeing sunlight, books are considered luxuries only available to the incredibly wealthy, corruption is a game of two halves, and the government maintains a Department of Skulduggery. Crime, especially youth-related, is well under control. Aeschlandia's national animal is the dolphin, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Aeschlandia is ranked 59,883rd in the world and 3,612th in Balder for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 88.08 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
