The Kingdom of Aegeonia is a huge, socially progressive nation, renowned for its daily referendums, state-planned economy, and absence of drug laws. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 320 million Aegeonians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The tiny, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Defense, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mykonos. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7.3%.

The all-consuming Aegeonian economy, worth 28.7 trillion Euros a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is broadly diversified, is led by the Gambling industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Information Technology, and Book Publishing. Average income is 89,834 Euros, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 274,843 per year while the poor average 22,744, a ratio of 12.1 to 1.

Devotion to God is only skin-deep, modelling agencies send their clients to work in nursing homes, motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours, and Aegeonia has designated Mykonos as its capital city. Crime, especially youth-related, is a serious problem, probably because of the absence of a police force. Aegeonia's national animal is the Aegean Trout, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans.

Aegeonia is ranked 96,795th in the world and 524th in Europe for Largest Retail Industry, scoring 2,495.77 on the Shrinkwrap Consignment Productivity Index.
