The Parliamentary Monarchy of Abbeyverne is a very large nation in Greater Cyngland. It is located on the Abbeyvernian Penninsula, and bordered by the nations of Greater Abbeyverne and Western Abbeyverne. It is bordered in the north by the Great Cyng Ocean and the Straight of Abbeyverne in the south. Abbeyverne has twenty regions and several territories, such as the Rancarin Islands. They include Greater Abbeyverne, Western Abbeyverne, Abbeyvernian South Vietnam, and Abbeyvernian Jagaira, which are semi-autonomous regions of Abbeyverne, and the Rancarin Islands south of the mainland. The geography of Abbeyverne is rather diverse, from the beautiful beaches on the north coastline, to the tall and gorgeous mountains in the central and southwest areas of the nation.

The history of Abbeyverne is mostly recent, but a fuller history, such as the one below, goes back to Tureincarland, the beautiful nation which used to occupy what is now Abbeyverne.

In present day, Abbeyverne is a hub of commercial and economic activity, with vast trade routes to all GCMTA nations, and all across the main continents of GC. The Abbeyvernian military is one of the largest in the region, and by far the finest, while the political system in Abbeyverne combines strong centralization in crisis, and representation and democracy all the time.

Etymology

The name Abbeyverne is an English version of the German "Abtei-villa." That derives from the idea of a stately manor (abtei) over a town (villa). It was used as the name of the castle, which was the capital of Tureincarland, and later was implemented as the name of the modern country in honor of the rebel group that created the nation, "Free Abbeyverne Castle."

History

1474-1505

In 1474 what is now the Abbeyvernian Peninsula was occupied by a collection of tribes, constantly at war with each other. On January 13th of that year, Josephus Schmidt was born to Friedhold and Susanne Schmidt, members of the Herrmann tribe, a smaller clan on the banks of the Beruna River. When he was thirteen, Josephus distinguished himself as an amazing soldier while the tribe was at war with the Kalbfleisch tribe. Becoming the chieftain of the Herrmanns in 1492, he asked to meet with the leaders of the other tribes, famously saying "While peace isn't constant, war mustn’t be either." While at first only three of the twenty tribes agreed to his request, when they formed an alliance and maintained it for several months, the others were soon knocking at his door. In 1493, they had all agreed to a peace treaty and formed what historians refer to as the "Josephus Alliance." After a year of increasingly violent squabbles between the tribes in 1497, it became apparent that a loose coalition would not work in the long run. So, on February 24th of 1498, the twenty chieftains met again to create a centralized government. Josephus was quickly was appointed as King in 1499, and the Kingdom of Tureincarland was formed.

1506-1599

In 1506 AD, King Josephus I built Abbeyverne Castle to become the capital city of Tureincarland. By 1563 there were great sea bases in the Racairn Isles that held a fleet nearly as large as the Spanish Armada. The castle was a major hub of commerce in many wares, and vast trade routes stretched through the countryside. In 1575 the forts at Racarin Main and Mount Stanhope were completed. From 1579 through 1582 war was waged with East Gridgeminspoon, as a result of which Tureincarland gained the cities of Moonor and Statekanking. At the conclusion of the 16th century Turiareceanland had 100 million citizens and a strong military with 100,000 foot soldiers, 20,000 horsemen, and 55,000 sailors on 76 capital ships and 100 smaller vessels.

1600-1899

In the 17th and 18th centuries more forts were built in the newly acquired lands, as well as several drydocks in the Racairn Isles. Nearly 30 new ships were built, and in 1704 the first Turiareceanland Ruling Council took office. Composed of 20 lords each representing a region and serving for life, they drafted the original Tureincarland Accords, which can be viewed in the Tureincarland History Museum in Abbeyverne today. In 1738 Lord Sir Culroyd of Brumagchy rebelled against the throne and the ruling council, seeking to form his own nation with himself as King. The rebellious Lord was executed after Brumagchy Castle was sacked by the Tureincarland Royal Army and Navy. The ruins can still be seen in Brumagchy. Through the remainder of the 1700's and the 1800's naval skirmishes with pirates cost the TRN two barques, three brigs, and a schooner.

1900-1949

For the first quarter of the 20th century, Tureincarland upgraded its navies to steam power and began outfitting special forces teams in the TRA. The castle was equipped with heavy cannon and poison gas, and several additional warehouses were constructed. A war with San Looelynn in 1927 cost the nation the recently acquired city of Las Wastondge. Then in 1939, Tureincarland decided to involve itself in WW2 by sending secret agents to Tokyo, which found out that a small expeditionary force was headed towards Racairn Isles, according to the radio messages that went back to Tokyo, the fleet sank in a heavy storm, not even halfway to their target, referred to in the transmission as Kakikoshima. In reality, five new TRN frigates surrounded and obliterated the three japanese destroyers. Scientists in Tureincarland produced and tested their first nuclear bomb in 1948, with admirable results.

1950-1999

In 1952 the lords of the TRC met to discuss nuclear policy, and the result was to storehouse about a dozen warheads as nuclear deterrent. From 1960 to 1975, the army and navy suffered under several reductions-in-force, which crippled the TRA's command structure. As a result, in 1997, Tureincarland was captured by the Empire of Neslonkempsea, which then occupied, but did not destroy Abbeyverne Castle.

2000-2020

At the turn of the century, remaining Tureincarlandians suffered many disgraces at the hands of the Neslonkempsea government. Mocked and abused, on June 1, 2020, the remaining Tureincarlandians in Abbeyverne revolted, kicking the Neslonkempsea out of the castle and surrounding area, where other nations came to the aid of the rebels and conquered the nation of Neslonkempsea, reducing it in size to become the brutal nation of His majecsty sjoia sqierpois sallamander. The rebels then set about re-establishing their nation, and on June 28, Abbeyverne was formed. Another uprising outside the former capital city created Greater Abbeyverne the next day. By late June, Abbeyverne had exploded in size, now with 10 million citizens, and continued to uphold traditional values with the first Abbeyverne Ruling Council, elected on June 29. On August 20, 2020, Abbeyverne occupied His majecsty sjoia sqierpois sallamander and turned it into Western Abbeyverne.

Foreign Relations

The nations foreign policy is rough on terrorism, communists, and those who declare war on their allies. While during peacetime the nation makes treaties with many nations and is a large force for goodwill, during wartime it is a force to be reckoned with.

Military

Abbeyverne's military is rated 7th in Greater Cyngland. Notable craft and units include the King Josephus I, the 1st Armored Cavalry, and 7th and 12th Spec Ops, which played pivotal roles in the Pasowcan War. The Abbeyverne Royal Air Force also created the AAUH-10, which is a stealthy, fast helicopter that packs quite a punch on the battlefield. According to This Index our military is a 8-9-9.

The Abbeyverne Military doctrine involves rapid deployment and superior supporting fire, and as such invests heavily in Armor, the Navy, the Space Force, the Air Force, and its Intelligence services. To rapidly mobilize for defense, Abbeyverne utilizes the SILENT EAGLE program, which uses ground imaging and satellite data to identify positions for individual troops to maximize defensive power. Abbeyverne also trains its soldiers with a very high emphasis on unit cohesiveness at the squad level, anticipating that in battle those are the men they will stay with.
