The Oppressed Peoples of Sudden DEAT is a massive, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, absence of drug laws, and punitive income tax rates. The cynical population of 3.646 billion DEATs are ruled with an iron fist by the socialist government, which grants its people the freedom to do whatever they like so long as it doesn't involve getting richer than anybody else or challenging the government.

The enormous, liberal, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Defense, and Education. The average income tax rate is 66.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant DEAT economy, worth 56.3 trillion Deutsche Marks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Tourism, Woodchip Exports, Automobile Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 15,434 Deutsche Marks, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sudden DEAT's national animal is the white rabbit.

Sudden DEAT is ranked 275,957th in the world and 6,889th in the Rejected Realms for Highest Wealthy Incomes, with 16,312 Standard Monetary Units.
