The People's Republic of Byelaruss is a tiny, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service, irreverence towards religion, and punitive income tax rates. The cynical population of 7 million Byelarussians are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The enormous, moralistic, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Welfare, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 59.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The fragile Byelarussian economy, worth 137 billion rubles a year, is quite specialized and led by the Woodchip Exports industry, with major contributions from Automobile Manufacturing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Arms Manufacturing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 19,543 rubles, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The government awards prizes to television shows featuring stereotype-breaking minority roles, the tenet of free speech is held dear, Harry Potter books are banned, and exterminators swarm Byelarussian homes. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Byelaruss's national animal is the bear.

Byelaruss is ranked 257,668th in the world and 5th in Byelaruss for Highest Poor Incomes, with 16,626.38 Standard Monetary Units.
