The Kingdom of Unified Tord is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, cynical population of 955 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 39%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Military spending recently hit a new high, the fire protection service is wholly government-funded, major cities are suffering under water rationing, and radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Unified Tord's national animal is the Lion, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Crown.
