The Military Commonwealth of Tiurabo is a massive, safe nation, ruled by General MacNeill with an iron fist, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.401 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Healthcare and Law & Order are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 31%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Information Technology and Uranium Mining.
The nation's gigantic air force is both respected and feared, innocent defendants often plea guilty for fear of receiving a much harsher sentence before jury, the wearing and manufacture of fur apparel is banned, and a National Academy regulates grammar and usage. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tiurabo's national animal is the two headed eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Ásatrú, and its currency is the Tiuraboan Dollar.
Tiurabo is ranked 30th in the region and 45,037th in the world for Happiest Citizens.
