The Capitalist Republic of Swilatia is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, notable for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 10.202 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, liberal, pro-business individuals devotes most of its attentions to Commerce, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Vilvek. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling, Soda Sales, and Book Publishing industries.

Military funding has been stripped back, eight year-olds can be seen lighting up in public areas, the Swilatia Enquirer offers weekly cash prizes for 'most blasphemous song, story, or cartoon', and violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Swilatia's national animal is the fire elf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Swilla.
