Oh no, compared to the taxis that charge me 40 quid, that's definitely a bargain! A black cab from Manchester city centre to my parents used to cost me just under £20 so it's not much more in comparison... so I tell myself... shush!

Yay Hammersmith! you're slowly moving closer to me Drac! Haha. I love Hammersmith, I was there today in fact, spending my hard earned pennies in Poundland and Shoe Zone... (and M&S food, I do have *some* class...)

Fair point. I doubt I could afford that though, I'd rather spend the time waiting for the Bus and be able to buy food for the wee!

It's pretty awesome, only about 5 minutes walk away from Broadway. Just wish the landlord would get back to us sooner. And sure you do, do they have even have them in Manchester? Kidding :P

I feel so left out haha! But then again, from the complaints you two have I might just stay here where our public transportation works :)

Also, we don't have a single one of those stores over here... Are there American stores in England?

Working public transport?! Don't be silly, there is no such thing!

Poundland and Shoe Zone are very cheap Corvinos, I wouldn't expect them to have shops outside the UK. In fact, I wouldn't expect them to have shops in the nicer parts of the UK either haha.

Umm... well Walmart own Asda and they're everywhere. I don't really know which brands are American or not... Hollister, thats American right? We have a couple of those.

wee? Week >_< For the most part here transport is usually fine, we just love to moan about it.

A lot of clothes shops like GAP or Ralph Lauren have shops over here. Likewise I'd guess that apart from companies like McDonalds/Burger King/Subway etc we mostly have our own versions of stuff. In terms of brands of things you buy there's probably more in common, though sometimes there are different UK and USA versions of the same thing.

Cool! I thought we had a lot of clothing stores in Europe, and I know McDonald's are everywhere. (Even in Kenya... kinda creepy). But all the clothes and stuff are all made in China :P

So is the countryside pretty open in the UK? In the US, the countryside is either farms, forests, mountains, or deserts for endless miles. (like 3/4 of my state is all farms and the rest is a big city + the suburbs... it kinda sucks if you want to drive south. It gets boring fast.)

Happy towel day all you hoopy froods. Keep it safe, and avoid those ravenous bugblatter beasts.

And no. It's mostly farmland, except the parts which are given over to civilisations, bits of woodland and the national parks. Most of the UK is much more densely populated than the US. Biggers towns (we don't call everywhere a city) are much closer together and there tend to be a lot more small villages in between. You can't drive for an hour and not see anyone, unless you go to the Scottish highlands perhaps. It just doesn't happen, there are too many people living here.

Lol dracion was that a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference?

Haha you should come here! You can drive 5 hours without seeing a thing (depending on the road you take, of course).

Naturally.

And I have. I remember being driven several places and being surprised how far Americans go to do stuff. Like, for us 15 miles is often too far to go for stuff on a regular basis, depending what the roads are like; but to you a good portion of guys that's nothing :P
