At one point, my English teacher a few years ago had scrawled on his whiteboard "Capitalism: more like "crapitalism," amirite?" I thought it was hilarious.

Funny now that the teacher was totally dependent on a crapitalism for providing all those top quality products he loves.

Give me at least a day, this may take a while.

Guess how large is a full backup of the forum is?

Funny that workers made said products, not capitalism or capitalists."Quality" is arguable, and more often than not, laughably poor. So because he buys stuff in capitalism for survival and for much-needed leisure, he's not allowed to criticise capitalism? Compelling argument, I'll be sure to never criticise the all-providing god-system capitalism henceforth, cos the poor are obviously just lazy leeches and because I drink Ultra-"Pure" Super Water™. Cheeky m8, I'm not in a debating mood, so I'm gonna eat my beef sandwich in peace this evening. :> Tahtah

One of my English teachers gave me the beautiful phrase; "Civilisation is the emasculation of Man". It was apparently the title of a deliberately provocative essay he wrote in conversation with another 'intellectual'.

Goddess Relief Office wrote:I feel stupid now ._.

I don't think people should feel stupid for not having known something. Joy at learning something new, no matter how small is far more positive and healthy. Oh and throw in a dash of pride for having had the courage to ask, and excitement at what cool stuff there still is to learn in the world and the positivity doesn't leave any space for 'feeling stupid'. :-D

Be happy, people, BE HAPPY!!!

True story time.

Yesterday morning, I met a homeless and disabled veteran, sitting outside in the sleety weather with but a tattered jacket and rusty wheelchair to his name, begging for some kind of assistance. I gave him $50, as I felt the guy needed it more than me. It got me to thinking, how can a man sacrifice everything, take a bullet to his neck for his country, and yet come home to no benefits, no way to pay for his healthcare, and have no where to live? A system he helped defend, capitalism, has turned its back on him. But, then again, capitalism was never really at his back. He was merely the cannon fodder by which capitalism used to tighten its noxious vice grip. He told me to always be proud of America and for being American, and I acknowledged him. But, can I really be that proud of America? Especially since we deem it acceptable to simply kick the unfortunate and worse-off to the curb to beg for money in the streets? I dunno. It was frustrating to see a man who was so certain of his love for his country be disregarded and discarded by a system driven purely by petty self-interest and the mindless drive for profit. A change has got to come, it has to start sometime, somewhere. We must, however, be willing to take the first steps.

+100Mb-ish something?
How many anime episodes are we talking about exactly?
Is it 240p? 480p? 720p? 1080p?
In what format is it in? .mp4? .avi? .flv?
How many seconds is it per episode?
FPS?
VBR?
*questioning intensifies*

oh.. yes.. I am everywhere!

Ok, I've just informed everyone of the forum upgrade.

For a limited time, I am enabling all the forum skins for people to take a last look (if you want)
- Mocha Lite (our very first skin, but abandoned after the first forum upgrade)
- IPB Classic Blue (came with the forum)
- Stone Gray (sometimes default skin)
- Golden Sun (sometimes default skin)
- Christmas
- Halloween in Yggdrasil
- Be Mine! (Valentines Day skin)

After a few days, probably the weekend I will start uploading files.

The upgrade is necessary because the current board is no longer compatible with mobile devices. I've been getting reminders from Google every few months ~__~ and they are annoying.

It's not just annoying but also has consequences. Google has downlisted our forum site because of our incompatibility with mobile devices. We used to be top 3 if you searched Yggdrasil forum. Now it's not even in top 10.

This all boils down to a bad decision I made back in the day to self-host using IPB. At the time, I was choosing between InvisionFree (which most forums on NS used then), Zetaboards (which was very new at the time), Phpbb, Simple machines, Proboards, and IPB. I went with IPB since I had experience with InvisionFree. I should have gone with zetaboards. But back then I wouldn't have known that Zeta would be updated regularly and still be free after all these years. I thought Zeta would be like InvisionFree, abandoned with no upgrades after initial launch.

Could have saved a lot of headache and hosting fees if I picked Zeta. I think nobody minds the adverts all that much anyway.

Fisxol

so how is this update going to play out?

Thembria SSR wrote:Mobile devises make forum admins angry.. My sister is so irritated with them.. noone uses computers anymore like us old people..

Haha I guess you have a point since I'm sort of forced to use laptops at school so that's probably the only reason I have one actually. As well as the fact that my parents would never buy me one and I seem to be unable to pass job interviews XD so no extra money to spare.
