Well, it looks like things are settling down in Warzone Asia. Still I think I'm going to keep this nation here for a bit. At least until proper embassy communications are reestablished.

Should hopefully be fully back in operation in the coming couple of days, thanks to those who expressed sympathies. Y'all be good for now.

Thank you Apulita for giving me such a warm welcome. I hope that I will eventually be an active member of WZEU.

So did anyone else watch the Game of Thrones finale ?

I read the books first. Well I watched Seasons 1-3 first, and then I read the books. After that, the show become boring. Once you know everything that's going to happen, the enjoyment is gone. However, right now, it seems that the show's producers have just thrown the books down the trash, as the show basically invents its own plotlines and ignores the complicated plot from the books. The show is extremely simplified now. At least that means it is unpredictable once again.

Anyway, back to your question... Sorry about that. No, I haven't watched the finale.

I've read the books also; well they do know what's going to happen, george told them. So I figure that since it's going to end up the with the same ending it doesn't matter if the show deviates. But I do see whatcha mean. In the shows defense, they did run out of books for season 5 and 6. Which are the seasons they really left some of my favorite plot lines out such as lady stoneheart and aegon. I enjoy both though. I hate you needed the show on Robb Starks death, bad way to go xD.

The Starks betrayed my great house. I am Lord Walder Frey. You summoned me here dear, heh. They deserved to die. All hail the King in the North, heh.

I don't think that it has to do the producers not having any book material to go on. I think the reason why the plotlines are so simple now is because they've been cutting, little by little, plotlines in the previous seasons. They've cut out Penny, Lady Stoneheart, Aegon, Quentyn, Arys Oakheart, Arriane, the Manderlys, Illyrio, Lord Borrell, the other Tyrell children, and so many other characters that it eventually adds up. Now they have so little plot to go on that the show just looks confused.

Although, I still enjoy the show, I want it to make me feel numb again. I mean moments like the Red Wedding and Oberyn's death. Episodes that make me want to throw my computer across the room. Now, the show is giving us some really populist moments, like Daenaerys's victory and Ramsay's death. We're all cheering, but it feels so easy. The reason why GOT is (was) such a good show is because it makes us feel afraid that our favorite people may not succeed; it is that sweet tension and anticipation that keeps us coming back. Now, it seems that all the "good guys" are winning. (For example, in DWD, when Quentyn died, I was happy because GRRM finally gave us a dying protagonist. I had gotten so far into the book without a good guy dying that I wanted bloodshed; like GRRM not being himself.) But GRRM said that the ending will be "bittersweet." Therefore, I'm expecting some of the following to die: Jon Snow, remaining Starks, Daenerys, and Tyrion. Who do you think will remain alive among these people? (If you have spoilers from the finale, please don't mention them.)
