Yeah, well these were the options in the issue... the last one was something like "you are the only religion we need, glorious leader, says your brother"

Especially with EU support being primarily in a Scotland that already wishes to secede.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY UK!

Obviously Britain made a mistake, like what countries actually make their own decisions these days? It's 2016, people, get with the current year.

John Oliver must be panicking wondering what to call racist now, after that Brexit happened :P

HELL YES!

I honestly thought we were going to vote remain and I was going to have to go to Switzerland. This is a new dawn for Great Britain. Now, all we have to do is climb out of the cess pit that is the EU, grasp onto the crumbling bricks and climb out into economic prosperity. All we need to do is get over this adversity and reach our freedom.

No longer will I have to bow down to my German masters in Brussels, dictating what to do, how to think and how to feel. No longer will my own Prime Minister be overshadowed by a man across the channel. Now, DEMOCRACY prevails.

June 23rd, Happy independance day everyone!

Have fun with the immense economic, social, and political consequences of a poorly made, rash descision.

Yes, that 0.8% ish recession. Such a detriment.

The first few years will be hard, yes that is true. But the EU is a shrinking trade bloc, in my opinion it would be in our best interests to get out and trade with the rest of the world. And get out of all of these regulations. And get out of the regressive trade policies put in place by them against Africa, making aid pointless.

And I would pay the highest price for democracy, even if it means breaking up the union. I would be incredibly sad if Scotland seceded, but for democracy, it's worth it.

The United States has outright said when it comes to trade, military, and economic deals The EU will be placed first and the U.K. second. But yeah, nationalism woo!

Ladies and Gentlemen, strap yourselves in for the Collapse of the EU and the economic slump that comes with it!

The united albion empore and Ninoria

If I may remember to everyone the purpose of EU, at the beginning was to ensure that Europe is at peace, never again WW2. Sure, there is a lot of stuff to upgrade/change, but with the growing of nationalism/fascism/racism/sexism around Nations, more than never we need a EU that ensure peace, tolerance, fraternity, equality and freedom around Europe.

Haqqislam and New uupha

Plato compared democracy to letting all the passengers of a ship steer the boat, and Winston Churchill once stated "The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter." I think this is the perfect example, it can be argued that many people probably voted with their hearts and not their minds. The margin between the for and against is quite small and to allow such a monumental thing to pass with such a small margin is foolish and will bite the U.K. in the butt in the future, the vote was incredibly shortsighted.

Keep watching the news, its expected to continue dropping...

Adromedan

DID YOU KNOW that when there is uncertainty in the markets, the stock of things related to it drops? When a company changes hands of a CEO, it drops. Also, many of the people with their hands in the markets of the pound were Remain supporters. No doubt they and the bookies are not happy. Also, if the price of Cocoa Puffs or Kinder Eggs go up, then so be it. The only thing that lasts forever is Brittania! :^)
