As much as I would love to run for SG, I think it would be best to slow get back into the fray. I haven't been back long enough for me to take up the responsibility once again.
We have an ongoing Call for Candidates. But as a refresher, I would like for anyone who put forth a Declaration of Candidacy to reaffirm their commitment since it has been a while since the Call started. Remember that descriptions and questions for new candidates are found in the World Factbook Entry. Election date depends on having a full slate of candidates.
Below is the current slate of Candidates. I just need confirmation that the Candidate still desires the position. We are still looking for a Candidate for Minister of Foreign Affairs. Also if any WA nation desires to put their name forward for any of the positions, I welcome you to put forth a Declaration of Candidacy found in the World Factbook Entry under the position description. Please remember that only WA nations may run as candidates. And no nation may run for more than one position.

I, The Prince of Ashebourton will run for the office of Minister of Culture.
1) How long have you have been a member of NationStates?
I have been a member of NS since 2008, this nation is not my first, however has become my main and currently only nation I RP as.
2) How long have you been a member of the New Commonwealth Society?
I, along with Thangor and a few others are founding members of this regional government, before hand however I was a member of the predecessor The Commonwealth Society.
3) Why do you want to be the Minister of Culture?
As a founding member, I have insight as to historic moment in early NCS life and can recall events no other nation has experienced. The good, the bad and the fun events that took place in the region from TCWS to the NCS
4) What would be your top priorities and goals while in office?
My priority would be to archive all significant historical moments, as well as moments prior to the refounding and organize regional sporting events. Other priorities would be to update the regional wiki and forums.
5) Do you feel confident in your ability to work diligently on maintaining and keeping up with the ever shifting demands of gaming, roleplaying, forum activity, and map updates, etc.? Explain. Unlike before, I plan on keeping up with the regional much more than before. I will ensure that I log on weekly and partake on current regional events.
6) Is there anything else that will set you apart from other candidates (ie. job experience, similar positions in other regions, etc.)? I have served as the founder and SG of the region as well as the Minister of Defense in the former region.

I believe I can make the economy run well again
4) What would be your top priorities and goals while in office?
Making it easier to earn civitas and spend civitas as members and making the whole system more interesting
5) Do you feel confident in your activity level in being able to effectively record other nation's activity in order to successfully keep track of civita totals? Explain.
Yes, I have enough time to keep track of the economy
6) Is there anything else that will set you apart from other candidates (ie. job experience, similar positions in other regions, etc.)?
I have been on every Secretariat position and I have been speaker in the NCS
Announcing my Candidacy for Minister of Foreign Affairs
1) How long have you have been a member of NationStates? About a year and a half now.
2) How long have you been a member of the New Commonwealth Society? About a year, I guess. I've had a few nations before this though.
3) Why do you want to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs? Because no one else wants to do it and I think I can do it if I try.
4) What would be your top priorities and goals for expanding diplomatic relations with other regions? Reevaluate all regional embassies, reinitialize discussions with Audax, try to make sure that our allies know that we exist, consider finding a new interregional alliance (since it's my fault that we are in one anymore, then my term ended), consider becoming an Arnhelm Declaration signatory.
5) Do you feel confident in your ability to write a complex treaty with another region, if so how do you intend to seek out treaties with other regions?Absolutely. I write some dang good essays, son (check my AP Scores B|). Treaties need to be written in as democratic a way possible with input from members of both reasons, possible through a platform such as google Docs, or through a period of negotiations similar to the way a Conference Committee works.
6) Is there anything else that will set you apart from other candidates (ie. Model UN experience, political science coursework, etc.)? I'm taking AP US Gov&Pol right now and my teacher says, and I quote, "He can make a 4 or 5 on the test, easy." Also I've held this position before.

This is the official acknowledgement of candidates putting forth their Declarations. Since we now have at least one candidate for each position, we will proceed with the 48-hour wait period until the close of the Call for Candidates, ending 3:00 p.m. (15:00) UTC or 10:00 a.m. CST on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. During this 48-hours, any nation wishing to still put forth a Declaration of Candidacy may do so. Following the 48-hour period, we will move into a 24-hour Q&A/debate period for the positions with more than one candidate. After the debate period, a ballot will be issued.

Finally, elections are coming! Yay
The forum as I can tell is under utilized and needs added material like events and updated historical archives to make the forum relevant again. When I ment update I didn't mean that the culture section needs to be redone, just kept up a bit more. As for the Factbook, I want add historical tid bits to show visitors where we came from and add a tab for a regional biography starting from TCWS to now.
I don't want to sound lazy but that is probably more of a job for the next SG, since my term is almost over
Well, if I am re-appointed as Speaker, I hope I'll have a little bit more activity in the Parliament...
You know, like 1 or 2 Motions, for growing the salaries of the Government Officials if you want, but need more x)
The Wiki needs to be updated as well but I believe that's one of the MoI's duties
