The mandalorian union

Also, they don't use chairs because they like standing so much. I guess they like to preen, too. Or something. Fish is pretty nice, export more of that to us.

Are you Bird People from Rick and Morty?!

...So is that a no on the fleshlight fish...?

Some of you might remember that when I initially came here, I had an anti-RP nation the first time around. Popular opinion was it sounded like something that would better fit a novel or somesuch rather than something one could actually RP with. I disagreed at first, only to realize that you guys were right and that I (unintentionally) made a rather OP nation that couldn't be defeated by conventional means, so I scrapped that nation and came up with Yos Namoi instead.

And while I do like what I'm doing with this nation, I think lacks detail. In reality, it's pretty simple the way everything is set up and I'll admit while this is easier it's unsatisfactory to me. I'm not going to get rid of Yos Namoi, but rather I was thinking of making another FT nation with more substance, more lore, more culture. Something more enticing and interesting that isn't bogged down by simplicity.

My only problem is I don't know what direction I should take it in. Currently spitballing with ideas, and I think I'm going to do something somewhat akin to the Covenant from Halo. You know, galactic empire, extremely religious, lead by a bunch of dickheads, multi-cultural, social hierarchy, moderate racism (naturally). But instead of it being all "We are united against you filthy infidels" and what not, it's more like "We only vaguely tolerate each other out of fear of our psychotic overlords" or something like that. And this time I won't just make my aliens short, inbred, 300 year old albino humans. :P

Thoughts? Ideas? Criticism? Pizza bread?

I would like to say, that a player can have simplicity in the beginning, but as he plays more with his nation he should tweak it here and there and gradually add more depth the longer he has it

Yeah, but to do that I'd have to retcon.

I don't like retconning.

Not necessarily. Coming up with details to cover gaps over time, in my experience (it is now I generally do things), just fills everything out more. It doesn't usually require actively retconning anything. Hell, sometimes it explains things better so you can avoid retconning things that seemed previously counter to what would be realistic in the given scenario.

Everything about the ixee and United Dominion, I feel, works together despite having been created over a course of... god, I think it's two or three years now; and I've yet to retcon anything, even relations with players I no longer wish to participate in threads with. I just worked out how to deal with them in the background.

Racism means more h8 on the Vixian species

No, I mean more like doing something I thought I was okay with at the time and then realizing later "Nah".

E.g. Bob kills Pete and marries Jennifer, to Bob kills Jennifer and marries Pete.

Vixia prime wrote:Racism means more h8 on the Vixian species

Nah, it's more like inter-imperial racism. The races hate each other despite being within the same political entity.

You'd know about experimenting wouldn't you ;)

Yos namoi wrote:Telros?

Back in the day Telros was known for playing around with what had to be at least a dozen different concepts including various iterations of Telros itself and completely separate other civilizations. It took him a long time to find one that worked, which made him look a bit, uh, schizophrenic.
