Here's a brief description of the Endless Void.
The Endless Void is a vast cave expanse discovered years ago by a team of anonymous scientists. The Void covers thousands of miles of the planet's underground cavern network and is speculated to reach the core of the planet, and even stretch around the globe. Explorers regularly step into the unexplored territories and more often than not, never return. As of late, energy-based technology became the dominant tool for military and commercial uses, with their purposes ranging from energy based weaponry to battle cruisers to toasters. The Void also has a peculiar artificial eco-system, complete with an artificial sun to sustain the various plant life that dwells deep in the Void. It is unknown who had created the eco-system, but it is also speculated that a race of ancient beings had colonized millions of years ago and left behind what they had created for the next race to discover.
