Also, Football was originally called Association football, it was shortened to football and the English created the nickname Soccer to distinguish it from Rugby football (asSOCiation football thus soccer). Soccer is now used in countries which have another sport which bears the name football thus americans having another football call it Soccer. So when an american calls it soccer they're syaing Association football...GET OVER IT.
