Well compare to Previous games, the amount of parameter that need to be combined in most events, will really emphasis the idea of equal opportunity as oppose to a simple roll of a dice

So I assume we will get more intrigued and balanced score sheets (or not...)

Even though I haven't signed up I will gladly provide excellent consession stand stuff such as Texas chili, nachos, foot long hot dogs, burgers, beer, soda, water etc

Well that is qualified under advertisement and it was given more than a month time to post an official advert in Wysteria forum

Consider Advertizing deadline ended a week ago, If you think you can manage making up and ad and post it here it would be great : :http://z1.invisionfree.invalid.com/Wysterian_Forum/index.php?showtopic=7891

You have full instructions on how to do it.

It is however a shame that a nation that hosts one of Wysteria Consuls, The General Consul, never the less , wont be sending her athletes to the games

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Commend McMasterdonia
A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

<see page=sc for full text>

Oh boy a brand-spanking new commendation! And, the comendation is authored by a Texan no less using their WA nation located in another region [Cielos negros]. The Security Council is ready to try and commend McMasterdonia of The North Pacific again. This one came around in May, 2014, but did not pass becuase no one thought it was good enough. So, here we go again. McMasterdonia has been around since April, 2012 non-stop. We have never spoken to McMasterdonia. It seems that the general consensus in the WA is that McMasterdonia deserves to be commended and reading this Resolution gives you a number of things to choose from as to why to approve of it. He has been a WA author and helps other aspiring authors. He has been a longstanding Delegate and has gotten lots of endorsements. He is a military leader. And, perhpas most importantly, he is a diplomat. That is a lot of accomplishments in a short period of time. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was up on the last SC vote -- Liberate Capitalist Paradise -- which was defeated after gaining only 20.90% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 9 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 0 FOR and 9 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

Note: NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly-expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Thursday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00am Texas Time on Friday the 25th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 1430 Votes AGAINST: 113

The Signups are now Officially closed with 81 nations who signed up

Coming the 29th of July, 2 Threads will be opened in the Cross Regional Games Directory: One will be called "Observers Seats", The Other one "Summer Games Events"

The Mingling, comments, and Role Playing if you wish, will be done on the Observers Seats

The Score sheets along with the Descriptions of each event will be posted inside the The "Summer Games events" thread.

The only thread where you are allowed to post is The Observers Seats (The Score Sheets should remain clean of comments)

Two Days will be given for each event (starting the 30th with Sprint 100m).

The idea is that in those 2 days circling each event - you will be able to bring your cheers for your athletes + mingling + showing aggravation and annoyance over judges ruling or other teams actions.

Another reason for the 2 days, is that not all of us are living in the same time zone.

Winners in an event are usually advertized in 3 ways:

1. The Score sheet aka "Summer Games Events" thread.

2. Wysteria RMB.

3. A Personal Telegram to the winning nation.

What do I think of when I hear TX? I have mixed feelings as my only experience with the state is USAF BMT @ Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. It was an interesting 2 months to put it mildly.

Greetings, friends! I'm the new GRA ambassador (for the moment, need to get a better-named nation in here), partly selected due to ties to the RL state.
- Wibblefeet, GRA (and FRA, but not representing them here... At the moment)

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Convention on Fracking
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental Industry Affected: Mining Proposed by: New Azura

Description: The World Assembly,

UNDERSTANDING that the necessity of fuel"...

<see page=ga for full text>

WooHoo, we have a new touchy-feely Environmental Resolution! Hug A Tree! Protect The Critters! Save The World! Yay! Have we mentioned that we hate "Environmental" Resolutions today? This sucker is right in our ballpark because if anybody knows about fracking, it is Texans. Basically, the World Assembly wants to regulate your entire oil and gas exploration industry if it involves fracking. Furthermore, it wants to do this through scaremongering about "induced-tectonic shifts or earthquakes". While fracking has not definitively been proven to not cause earthquakes, the generally-accepted scientific opinion is that the practice is not going to cause them and certainly not cause the tectonic plates to shift! And what is it with this entirely arbitrary 50-mile no-fracking zone around incorporated locales? Finally, point #5 gives the WA power to penalize fracking corporations for any pollution of groundwater - fracking-related or otherwise. It is time to say fracking no on the convention on fracking. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was down on the last GA vote -- Child Pornography Ban -- which was passed after gaining 92.90% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 6 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 5 FOR and 1 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were almost unanimous!

<see page=sc for full text>

Oh Boy! The Security Council wants to commend one of its most prolific authors in WA history - Sciongrad/Connopolis. Sciongrad has been around since March, 2012 uninterrupted and Connopolis has been around since May, 2011 with a couple of deaths. He has a checkered track record in Texas with some scoring 100% approval rates and some causing deep divisions and some racking up 100% disapproval. That probably happens when you have authored 18 resolutions and co-authored several more. He has certainly produced a lot of legislation over the years. Now is that "commendable"? We don't know. Often times career politicians are honored. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was flat on the last SC vote -- Commend McMasterdonia -- which was passed after gaining 85.63% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts!
