A Huge conference was held at Wysteria General Consul in Texas and as a finale surprise we all took a trip to Texas Space Elevator.

Which was truly a disgrace!!!

We intended to finish the conference with Texas space elevator in order to visit all sorts of places long forgotten and the entire trip was ruined thanks to a well UN preserved technology,
Bad Maintenance and bad manners by an old lady who seemed to be the Cafeteria Lady, the Safety guard & the elevator operator all together.

Those who are suppose to Govern over Texas space affairs, please make sure next time everything works 120%.

Happy Juneteenth Texas! For those who are unaware, Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a holiday in the United States honoring African American heritage by commemorating the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the United States. Slavery was abolished in 1862 in the United States and went into effect in 1863. However, Texas was a little behind in enacting it and did not get to it until 1865. It is celebrated in 43 states in the U.S. and in many former British colonies in the Caribbean on various days of the year, but there is a push to make it the same day in all states. In Texas, it is June 19th and the day is recognized as a state holiday.

I know their going to make new star treks after this one, for me it will be weird not seeing Him as Chekhov. Plus he was Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation all around its a sad day for Star Trek

The new show next year is not directly connected to the JJ Movies. Still sad to hear of his passing.

To anyone looking to visit Pennsylvania, I highly encourage you to. PA has a lot of natural beauty, and has something for everyone. It should probably be higher on everyone's to-do list.
Oh yeah, and about what else made the day we went to Gettysburg unlucky- we found out that my 80-year old great great aunt was in the hospital...

Just moved back to that area of PA from CA. Glad you had a good trip overall .

Since I assume you are a Trekkie what do you think of Chekovs passing and who would you like to rps we replace him in the next movie?

It's always sad when a Trek actor passes, but especially when they are so young.

Not sure if there will be a 4th JJ Trek movie. Either way I don't personally have anyone in mind to play Chekhov.

I'm sorry but I have an issue with Star trek past 10 years movies.
It moved from Adventures theme which is what all the old Sci Fi movies and tv series had in common to lets do a big finish with huge battleship battle.
The characters overall (if they are not the top 3) play a really dull role.
I'm not saying that the movies dont leave you with "wow" after a battleship just crashed into a tall building or slide on water but there it start and ends...

Because of the Director...

See what happened to Star Wars 7.

He's out for shock and awe, not for telling stories

Is this the end of Star Wars?

Wrong Franchise. This is CBS/Paramount, they hold the purse strings for Star Trek.

Fans have been pushing for guidelines for a while, but the guidelines just released are very strict.

Picos elissa de los tres valles

Its a milking cow issue. Taking a good storyline and milking it to the end which ends in really really bad products.

Best examples are:

The James bond franchise (you can't compare old Sean Connery and maybe early pierce brosnan to today).
The DC Comics, Superman / Batman.
Jaws (who cares about mother shark who revenge son shark).

Even though I'm not a fan of star wars, I agree with Gro-armed, . No.7, was boring compare to the early movies.
(normally you can get away with a movie if there are some actors you really like - lets say Portman, but this was just Documentary awful).

Yup. that concern has been voiced over Star Trek coming back to TV next year. Sure it will be nice to have another show, but perhaps 5 tv shows is enough.

Blasphemy! There is no such thing as too much Star Trek.

The atheist experience wrote:Blasphemy! There is no such thing as too much Star Trek.

Yes there is.
Any Star Trek.

You beat us to it The atheist experience! With a multiverse as large as Star Trek's there is more than enough content for another series. They just need fresh writers. The Stargate franchise thrived when they changed up the writers every couple of years, but when they stopped, they stagnated and crashed and burned.

Those draconian requirements for fan-made productions pretty much relegate it to HS and/or college AV productions. However, the fact that they could do anything in the past was amazing. If you compare that to infringing on Disney's copyrights or Lucas' copyrights, or anybody else's for that matter, then it was amazing anything at all got produced aside from fan fiction.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal "Preventing Animal Abuse"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal Resolution: GA#372 Proposed by: Imperium Anglorum

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #372: Preventing Animal Abuse (Category: Moral Decency; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out"...

<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>

Oh Boy, The Animals Killers are back! They tried to repeal this earlier this month and came up short with only 34% of the vote. Now they are trying again. When this one came around at the end of May, 2016, Texans were a little split by a vote of 3 for and 1 against on the subject. This is the one where you were morally indecent if you voted against it and it passed by a healthy percentage (80%). We liked it because we don't want to hurt the animals. However, the big mean evil Repeal Cartel wants to repeal this one so they can experiment on the poor, helpless, defenseless creatures of the world. Bah! Vote your conscious Texas. As a reminder, the issue here is the REPEAL of the existing law. A vote AGAINST this Resolution means you are in favor of the existing law and do not want it repealed. A vote FOR this Resolution means you want the law off the books. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was flat on the last GA vote -- Pesticide Regulations -- which was passed after gaining 84.95% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 3 FOR and 0 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Monday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00pm Texas Time on Tuesday the 28th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 3670 Votes AGAINST: 707

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!
