In honor of The right hand of her majesty's question, and, seeing it is Groundhog Day, we have a redux to 2014's very similar poll here.

The right hand of her majesty wrote:So how many of you actually live in Texas?

I live about 14,275 km (or about 8,870 miles) from Austin. So basically, the other side of the world.

The right hand of her majesty wrote:So how many of you actually live in Texas?

I'm about a half hour south of Houston I-45.

The right hand of her majesty wrote:So how many of you actually live in Texas?

I live about an hour N/NW of Dallas and an hour S of the Oklahoma line.

Free crossbows for all Hmm, we are guessing that puts you right smack in Melbourne, but Myanmar, much of BFE China and much of BFE Russia are not out of the question. :)

Melbourne's correct.

Have y'all or are y'all talking about changing Australia's flag just like your neighbors are doing in New Zealand?

The right hand of her majesty wrote:So how many of you actually live in Texas?

I live in the heart of Texas, AUSTIN, Texas

We were just checking out pix of Monterrey on Google and were surprised by the mountain and how sprawling Monterrey was - it is huge! So, we checked out the population - 1.1 million! Wow, that is one big city Empress!

However, we thought that until we checked out Melbourne... Holy Guacamole Batman! 4.1 million! To steal from an over-clichéd Australian, Now, that is a big city! And both have nice rivers, Melbourne wins in the skyscraper department, but Monterrey wins in the mountain count. Both have some lovely cathedrals.

Man, we thought Texas had some big cities! Y'all are both rocking it too!

It's Coldplay this year? Interesting.

Personally I'm rooting for the Broncos, but it could certainly go either way. Get them deep-dish pizza's and biscuits ready, it's gonna be a good one! :D

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Explosive Remnants of War
A resolution to modify universal standards of healthcare.

Category: Health Area of Effect: International Aid Proposed by: Separatist Peoples

Description:

Noting that unexploded ordinance left over from war can pose a serious threat to"...

<see page=ga for full text>

Sheesh! A new war Resolution! This is yet another attempt to legislate war. Well, it is post-war if you want to be technical. Our longstanding stance is that we do not think the WA should be allowed to write the Laws of War. War is war and each conflict varies from the next. There is no "perfect" war that can be run by a book such as the one the World Assembly is attempting to write. Sure, it would be great if every war was scheduled and signed off on before it began, but then again so would world peace and free cookies and milk every day. In this case, the WA wants to get into the business of mine removal a reporting. While this Resolution is well-meaning, we thing the WA should stay out of this activity. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was up on the last GA vote -- Promotion of Clean Energy -- which was passed after gaining 75.08% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 4 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 1 FOR and 3 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were almost unanimous.

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Sunday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00pm Texas Time on Monday the 8th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 4300 Votes AGAINST: 3601

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

YeeHaw! Are your ready for some football, erm, Saturday Breakfast Santa Clara Style? Today we will be presenting Super Bowl Breakfast Saturday! Since the Super Bowl is in Santa Clara this year, we will be serving up a commensurate breakfast. We will start off with a couple of California Super Upscale Super Eggs Benedicts. The first is the Lox and Capers Benedict made with fresh in-house smoked salmon, two perfectly-poached genuine Texas grade A eggs topped with a super buttery Hollandaise sauce topped again with twangy capers served up on fresh, in-house homemade English Muffins toasted up all crispy with butter! Want to go a little funkier? We have the Spicy Crab Cake Benedict made from freshly-harvested Texas Gulf Coast Blue Crab meat, gently formed into a patty, fried up nice and crispy and topped with your choice of egg. Traditionalists will want to choose the poached, but fried and scrambled are viable options for the picky. If that was not enough, hold onto your britches, all that is then topped with a dollop of spicy Hollandaise kicked up with diced chipotles and cayenne pepper too! As the late, great Randy "Macho Man" Savage would say, "Oh yeah!"! We could/should stop right there and die happy, but those crazy Californians have more wackiness to offer for breakfast! How about a taco? The Super Porker Taco is pulled pork, scrambled eggs and bacon jam topped with pico de gallo! ¡Ay, Caramba! No breakfast would be complete without something sweet. We have Caramel Crumble Cinnamon French Toast! This beast is made from a cinnamon-swirl, super-eggy brioche bread, gently dipped in egg and fried up just right - crispy on the outside, soft and yummy on the inside. It is then topped with a bourbon pecan caramel sauce, sweet cinnamon coffee cake crumbles made from homemade Cinnamon Rolls and topped off with whipped cream. Woo! If you feeling like that is all a bit heavy, try the Cross Trainer Sandwich! This Santa Clara specialty is a freshly-baked, super-flaky croissant topped with a California-grown, fresh, ripe avocado, egg white omelet and grilled tomato. Since California is officially the Land of Fruits and Nuts, we will be serving up Fabulous Fruit Crepes made with a hand-picked selection of fresh berries and super-nutty granola, topped with some freaky Greek yogurt! The Juice Bar today is an all-California, all-funky selection - Kiwi Juice, Plum Promenade, Blueberry Blush, Nectarine Nectar, Peach Puree and the Super Freaky Celery-Garlic-Onion-Tomato Juice Bloody Mary for the adults in the crowd. Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Come on down and start your day right Texas. You know you want to!®

I'm surprised the option: I'm not rooting for anyone in particular but just to have a good game.

Isn't on their because I really like both teams but for technicality I'm rooting for the Broncos

I think we might if we become a republic. The chance of that happening at this time however is...pretty slim.

The right hand of her majesty

You all have convinced me to join the World Assembly. I didn't know there was so much in voting!

Aww, Come on People? Nobody likes Cam?

Scooc

I don't follow football, but I'll go for the Panthers. I guess that makes two.

Woo, that was a good Super Bowl! It was a battle of defenses. We are happy for Peyton Manning. Maybe this will shut up the haters from earlier this season. Poor Panthers never saw defense like that all season. Even halftime turned out ok despite the poor start by Coldplay. Bruno Mars, of all people, stepped up and saved it. Frankly, we were impressed. Yay Broncos!
