The Federation of Tawau Free Land wrote:I think we should established Ministry Of Defence for our region that will control the Military Forces for Southeast Asia .
There are many benefits that we will get if this proposal accepted by the Higher Council of Southeast Asia

The Federation of Reunion of Malaysia is against this proposal. For each nation to surrender its own military to the control of a supranational entity - even one of a noble entity such as Southeast Asia, is to see that them give up what may be their only true guarantor of sovereignty should the peaceful institutions of Southeast Asia fail. We should never take away that freedom and military independence from our member-states, just as we abide by mutual non-interference in each other's affairs. It is in the opinion of The Federation of Reunion of Malaysia, a violation of the values of our region.

If there are reasons for why a joint force must be convened, it should be done on a case-by-case basis, targeted at specific threats e.g. regional terrorism, with clearly defined victory conditions and withdrawal conditions determined by consensus.

It may be rebutted that a joint regional force will be of use to nations that cannot afford their own military for domestic peacekeeping. Yet throughout the history of Southeast Asia, never has a nation that needed such aid never been able to find it in their neighbours. The Federation of Reunion of Malaysia cites two cases of such where aid has been freely extended to our regional brethen: in the Zombie Apocalypse of 2015, where the Reunion military deployed Cure Missiles on multiple regional targets; in the New Tawau City earthquake where humanitarian assistance was offered. This does not yet include the fine efforts extended at other times by our Chairman The Sultanate of Madura, as well as other great powers of our region.
