Ah yes, the taxpayers. Those things that won't stop striking.
And I'm grateful for it. While law is a lifetime of studying in general the shift from common law to civil has me ultimately making sh*t up as I go.
Hey i am union now,
Strike on my brother workers
there must be quite the difference between common law, and the Napoleonic code
It's not so bad. Much easier to reference actually, and things go faster. Now were I spending my days in court I'd absolutely despise it, there's just something terribly unjust about not having a trial by jury and generally the judges having all the driving force behind a trial. But hey, not my axe to grind.
Here in the code pews its rather convenient, and majoring in immigration and asylum gave me a crash course in the differences. Thrown in the deep end with a safety float.
shame annoying is not a warnable offense
that is something anyway, but the approach to law is different, its very much a top down system, but it is a top down system that tries to be rational. WHereas common law is much more localized especially as to recognition of custom and court precedent.
Which is why it's easier to reference here. Ever try having to go back through case after case to find the precedent rather than just referencing one handy dandy code of laws? Wooft.
yes, a long time ago, i thought about being a lawyer, so i worked as a paralegal for a few years. I have written motions and briefs i dont know if you have shepards there, but in the days before computers. i have been there, so i see your point

Did not have those in Ireland, no. Would have been nice, one of the major things that sent me running to the safety of teaching was the thought of having to wade through the clusterfeck to get a defence prepared.
Also, you could have been a lawyer.
How's middle management in the public sector treating you.
I'm hoping I can be a counselor, both my older brother and step mom have masters in psychology, not sure if being out there is good or bad for counseling though.
its ok, i work 35 hour weeks, and my work does have serious positive impact on the riding public.
I really did not like the people i worked with, of the 50 or so attorney's in the two firms i worked in had, i though more than 95% were competent at their task and i would be happy with them representing me. there was one person i liked enough to make a work friend.
Some hardcore RPing in TET.
is that what you call it?
shame its not bannable
I have to be nice. What I'd like to call it would get ME banned.
Read through the archives, good times. 4 years and further is dangerous territory :P
Yo that's grade A meat.
I don't think the Chancellor likes me <_<
Might have pushed too hard. Ho hum.
Wear a false moustache, so they won't recognize you.
Ethel mermania, Gallade, and Andral
Thankfully he doesn't know what I look like. Yet. His very jocular email tone got progressively more and more curt as we were discussing a small issue.
Pick your fights.
This is my fight.
Now I won't go punching refugees right in the dreams because that's another department. Nope, I get this one. It's gonna be fun fun fun if it's ever anything major.
Ethel mermania and The grim reaper
How do you know about my fetish?!?!
You're alive?!
I am?!
