DPRK Succeeds in Nuclear Warhead Explosion Test

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- The Nuclear Weapons Institute of the DPRK made public the following statement Friday:

Scientists and technicians of the DPRK carried out a nuclear explosion test for the judgment of the power of a nuclear warhead newly studied and manufactured by them at the northern nuclear test ground under the plan of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) for building strategic nuclear force.

The Central Committee of the WPK sent warm congratulations to nuclear scientists and technicians of the northern nuclear test ground on the successful nuclear warhead explosion test.

The nuclear test finally examined and confirmed the structure and specific features of movement of nuclear warhead that has been standardized to be able to be mounted on strategic ballistic rockets of the Hwasong artillery units of the Strategic Force of the Korean People's Army as well as its performance and power.

It was confirmed through the results of analysis of the test that the measured values including explosion might and the nuclear material usage coefficient conformed with the calculated values and that there was no radioactive materials leakage during the test and, therefore, no adverse impact on the ecological environment of the surroundings.

The standardization of the nuclear warhead will enable the DPRK to produce at will and as many as it wants a variety of smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear warheads of higher strike power with a firm hold on the technology for producing and using various fissile materials. This has definitely put on a higher level the DPRK's technology of mounting nuclear warheads on ballistic rockets.

The nuclear warhead explosion test is a demonstration of the toughest will of the WPK and the Korean people to get themselves always ready to retaliate against the enemies if they make provocation as it is part of practical countermeasures to the racket of threat and sanctions against the DPRK kicked up by the U.S.-led hostile forces who have gone desperate in their moves to find fault with the sovereign state's exercise of the right to self-defence while categorically denying the DPRK's strategic position as a full-fledged nuclear weapons state.

The DPRK will take further measures to bolster the state nuclear force in quality and quantity for safeguarding its dignity and right to existence and genuine peace from the U.S. increasing threat of a nuclear war.

*the sound of a hundred trumpets roar*

Comrades! Lend me your ears and eyes for a moment! A day of momentous change is upon North Korea.

What is there to say about a life lived in pursuit of revolutionary ambitions? Is it a life well lived, time well spent? Here in North Korea, we know the answer is “Yes!” to both.

Comrade Veronica Ming has been an exemplar of this regions principles for years now, the iron fist at the rudder of the ship that is North Korea. She reclaimed the region from the darkest pit, and turned it into a beacon of socialism on NationStates. She forged it in the crucible of struggle and party building to become the haven that it is for socialists. Through all the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, betrayals and victories, Ming has been a part of it all.

There aren’t words of praise high enough, nor accolades shiny enough, nor peace serene enough that would seem a fitting reward for her service over the years. Her dedication to the cause has been an inspiration for many of us, the reason we are here for some, the driving force for sure.

Unfortunately, all good things must draw to a close.

Comrade Ming has sadly resigned from the founders role.

I will let her speak for herself on her reasons (with the recent birth of her daughter I am sure many of you can guess the basis), only know that she has always had the best interests of the region in mind. She will enter service as a normal cadre member with reduced responsibilities. We cannot thank her enough for her service and we will never forget. In time it is my most fervent hope that you return to us refreshed and able to assume the founder role once more.

Consequently, I, Comradeland have assumed the mantle and responsibilities of the regional founder with the blessing of Ming and the heads of the KPN. I swear to uphold the defense of the region, the protection of a space for socialists and communists to debate and share, and the trust of our regional allies. I swear to arm and wield the sword that cuts the threads of reaction and fascism on NationStates. I swear to never allow oppressive speech to enter North Korea, and to oppose it wherever I see it. These things and more I promise to do and uphold in the defense of socialism and North Korea on NationStates.

Our regions character and goals will not change. Most of you have known me as long as you have been in North Korea, it is my home more than any other on NationStates. Losing Ming’s leadership is like losing the region’s right arm, but we will overcome.

What I will do is lead a new push into the realm of discussion and learning, diplomacy and communication. I have prepared a 3 month study plan, with week to week topics for discussion. Over the coming weekend I will reveal this for discussion, and will begin preparing articles and discussion topics. I fully intend to try and involve other regions in the process, as well as compile a summation at the end of the week to submit to the Red and Black newspaper.

Further, I want to push our comrades to communicate with other regions, and forge bonds. We have been in isolation for a long while, it is time to re-evaluate who among the NationStates populace is developing class consciousness.

I want to re-evaluate the Peoples Democratic Dictatorship (despite being a Maoist I do not think it is working), and want to form a media department.

I will not be utilizing the founder account except in defense of the region and administrative tasks unless there turns out to be a tactical reason the founder is better able to lead discussion.

There are big plans afoot. Much work is going to need to be poured in. I hope that comrades will be willing to contribute even a small amount over the coming weeks, a small article, a few posts, a discussion about something that is posted. I aim to liven the posts to be more than just news and theory, but to be substantive and thought provoking.

The slow decline must be arrested, and I plan to throw my power into reversing it. Join me and let us forge something even stronger together.

Comrade Ming! Thank you! For all that you have done, and no doubt will continue to do, your efforts will be the shoulders on which we stand! You will always be dear to North Korea, may the road rise up to meet you whenever you choose to return in force :).

Dear Comrade Ming
Even though I've been here less then a year, from what I have observed, your leadership has been incredibly valuable and I wish you well in your future endeavors, I believe that with your former guidance, we can and will continue to lead North Korea to an even more prosperous future, thank you for your dedication, efforts and struggle. Never let down the mantle of Socialism.

Dear comrades;

What can I say to sum up 5 years in the founder's seat here? I was 29 when I first came to North Korea I'm now 34. I used to spend 4 hours a night here, every night and that has dwindled to 20 minutes every night. The region deserves more effort, it needs more now in this time, more than ever and while I'm unable to provide time and effort right now I know many of you will take up this selfless task.

Comradeland is right to point out our "slow decline" and we can continue to wither and fade under my half assed leadership or I made the choice to further empower my closest comrades to take my place and raise the region high once more.

I will indeed take the offer to one day return to leadership here, however I don't see this possible for at least 6 months.

Nationstates has been a big part of my life for a long time now, many of my closest comrades are here and I'd never leave North Korea willingly forever, I'll always be here in some capacity.

I feel caught a little off guard, a little out of character for me, I generally really enjoy speeches but typing from my phone and knowing I'll still be here with all of you for (hopefully) many years to come - I feel as though it's not important for me to say anything.

I will say however, that what we have here is special and I'm counting on all of you to keep it running with me. I'll be here right by your side because we're comrades and this is just another part of the struggle.

Thank you to all the comrades for your kind words. May our region stand strong until the end of Nationstates or until the capitalist system lays in ruins the world over.

Revolutionary regards;

September 9th DPRK Independence Day

On September 9 1948, the last Soviet advisers leave Korea and the DPRK is founded as a sovereign nation in the Northern half of the peninsula.

Nuclear test #5

I just want to share with the region a few points on this topic;

The DPRK's most recent test is estimated at 10 kilotons or a weapon similar in destruction to the "Little Boy" (15kt) dropped on Nagasaki, the imperialist aggressors currently stockpile hundreds of nuclear weapons around 1 MEGATON (1,000 kilotons) while the DPRK is thought to have less than 15 of such weapons

The DPRK has never invaded a foreign nation other than to liberate the peninsula in the name of socialism.

The United States of America has invaded dozens of countries, hundreds of times in its short history and actually used these weapons on inhabited cites, not military targets (and murdered 260,000 civilians, women and children) not in defense of their homeland but in an effort to "contain" the Japanese.

There are so many distortions of reality in the media, I don't need to explain that to you - the most horrible looking nations are the ones who don't kowtow to America.

Dangerous ideas to the capitalist class, such as free education, housing, healthcare, state support in illness and old age, the right to state provided food and clean water - are horrifying to them, socialism is horrifying to them - and that is why the DPRK is so vilified, it's why Stalin's name is so blackened and Lenin obscured, Marx left out of text books and philosophy classes.

I support the right of the DPRK to self defense regardless of the means, on the condition that such horrible weapons are used only in defense and as a deterrent. I hope comrades here will educate themselves to stand for Korean socialism amid the capitalist world's condemnation, when such hypocrisy is disgusting from their side and they should be ashamed of themselves.

I felt like i haven't had the chance at activity as some since I do not own a computer. I've been on and off with a phone for a while. That said, I think I speak for everyone when I say that you'll be a missed addition of this region. If it were not for you, I wouldn't be typing this now because I would have been far off of this game. You told me that there was potential in everyone, and when I felt I wasn't welcome anywhere after some of my own personal revolutionary failures- the equality of your dedication met no end. I finally found home, and so have many others who I call comrades.

The development of ourselves should not falter, in any event or circumstance. I think our future leader(s) should take heed when I say that her compassion should be something we should all work to develop for our home. Comrades, we control our future, not the other way around!

Yes of course, but it's the quote that's of value here comrade. I believe this is particularly useful as it shows the international class conflict we face. As in "the worker has no nation".

Today in North Korea we honor the victims of the original 9/11. Today in 1973, Salvador Allende met his end by a CIA-backed military coup. He pushed forth a progressive program in numerous areas, attacking illiteracy and greatly expanding welfare; he contributed a radical innovation in the area of planned economies with Project Cybersyn. All this was done while fending off local reactionaries and dealing with deliberate economic shocks caused by capitalists similar to what Venezuela is facing now. Allende's politics were not perfect; many of us here are likely deeply skeptical of the possibilities of wielding the bourgeois state to build socialism as democratic socialists like him intend, but the progress he made in such a short time is worth remembering.

Allende's Last Words to the Nation

My friends,

Surely this will be the last opportunity for me to address you. The Air Force has bombed the towers of Radio Portales and Radio Corporación.

My words do not have bitterness but disappointment. May they be a moral punishment for those who have betrayed their oath: soldiers of Chile, titular commanders in chief, Admiral Merino, who has designated himself Commander of the Navy, and Mr. Mendoza, the despicable general who only yesterday pledged his fidelity and loyalty to the Government, and who also has appointed himself Chief of the Carabineros [national police].

Given these facts, the only thing left for me is to say to workers: I am not going to resign!

Placed in a historic transition, I will pay for loyalty to the people with my life. And I say to them that I am certain that the seed which we have planted in the good conscience of thousands and thousands of Chileans will not be shriveled forever.

They have strength and will be able to dominate us, but social processes can be arrested neither by crime nor force. History is ours, and people make history.

Workers of my country: I want to thank you for the loyalty that you always had, the confidence that you deposited in a man who was only an interpreter of great yearnings for justice, who gave his word that he would respect the Constitution and the law and did just that. At this definitive moment, the last moment when I can address you, I wish you to take advantage of the lesson: foreign capital, imperialism, together with the reaction, created the climate in which the Armed Forces broke their tradition, the tradition taught by General Schneider and reaffirmed by Commander Araya, victims of the same social sector which will today be in their homes hoping, with foreign assistance, to retake power to continue defending their profits and their privileges.

I address, above all, the modest woman of our land, the campesina who believed in us, the worker who labored more, the mother who knew our concern for children. I address professionals of Chile, patriotic professionals, those who days ago continued working against the sedition sponsored by professional associations, class-based associations that also defended the advantages which a capitalist society grants to a few.

I address the youth, those who sang and gave us their joy and their spirit of struggle. I address the man of Chile, the worker, the farmer, the intellectual, those who will be persecuted, because in our country fascism has been already present for many hours -- in terrorist attacks, blowing up the bridges, cutting the railroad tracks, destroying the oil and gas pipelines, in the face of the silence of those who had the obligation to protect them. They were committed. History will judge them.

Surely Radio Magallanes will be silenced, and the calm metal instrument of my voice will no longer reach you. It does not matter. You will continue hearing it. I will always be next to you. At least my memory will be that of a man of dignity who was loyal to [inaudible] the workers.

The people must defend themselves, but they must not sacrifice themselves. The people must not let themselves be destroyed or riddled with bullets, but they cannot be humiliated either.

Workers of my country, I have faith in Chile and its destiny. Other men will overcome this dark and bitter moment when treason seeks to prevail. Go forward knowing that, sooner rather than later, the great avenues will open again where free men will walk to build a better society.

Long live Chile! Long live the people! Long live the workers!

These are my last words, and I am certain that my sacrifice will not be in vain, I am certain that, at the very least, it will be a moral lesson that will punish felony, cowardice, and treason.
