Aboveland wrote:Why is everyone obsessed with IKEA?

Unlike the other Made in China generic crap, IKEA's stuff can actually fit together and doesn't have any missing part. Yes not to mention it has good and affordable food.

Majority of my furniture is from IKEA - it's great quality for how much it cost.

Yes it did. Well, not in the sense that there was a Kingdom of Sweden, but there were the Svear and the Götar who merged into the Kingdom of Sweden in the 14th Century

So we agree - Sweden didn't exist during the Viking Age.

I don't think Aboveland meant 'obsessed' in the good way, considering IKEA is usually used as a representation of exactly that: cheap generic crap. Honestly, I've never heard IKEA being mentioned in a good way, it's always being made fun of in one way or another. A bit like McDonald's is used as general term and flagship of the whole 'bad American food-theme', 'IKEA' is basically an umbrella term for shítty furniture.

Well put it this way. There was the "duchy" of the Svear, and the Swedish word for Sweden - Sverige - translates literally to Svealand.

I meant why people spoke about IKEA so much, actually.

Exactly.

Except there were Svear and Götaland.... and of course Danish Scania.

Olof Skötkonung known as Olaf Eiríksson is also known as Olaf the swede... olaf the swede is a modernization of course... it would have been olaf the svear.

Truth be told not much is known about the different kings of Svear and Götaland... even up to the year 1000 where the danes and especially Norwegians have much documentation... where the "swedes" are still mostly speculation by Snorri and Adam of Bremen.

Oooh
The zombie apocalypse is near!

In-case you guys didn't hear.

I'd like to say that IRL... I'm so obsessed with surviving the zombie apocalypse I have a shoe box under my bed with a knife and a folder with instructions, safe places and tips in case something happens. Not weird enough c:

ABOUT THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AND HOW TO SURVIVE IT

To anyone who wants the full apocalypse experience, this sort of include SPOILERS: Don't read any further

First of all, to all the newcomers and people who are just unsure, this Halloween gimmick is an annual event and the results from it are purely cosmetic and entirely temporary - in other words, nothing will really happen to your nation, so don't freak out if your entire population has suddenly disappeared, technically they're still there and visually they will come back.

Now, how should we deal with it? It's up to every individual nation of course, and especially to the ones that haven't tried it before, you should definitely play this out in exactly the way that you feel like. Just have fun, that's the main goal.

BUT, with that being said, if we as a region want to do well this year - or maybe not just well, but even get up there in the rankings - previous experiences have taught us the most effective way of handling this... that is, if nothing's changed since last time.

So, what is the most effective way? Short answer is: Research a cure. Longer answer is: No, really, just research a cure from the moment the event starts to the moment it ends, without killing any zombies at all - it's that simple. Why? Well, personally, the first year I thought it would be a good idea to start off by killing all the zombies and then research a cure, y'know, kind of get it under control first. But obviously, all the zombies you kill are essentially dead citizens, they're gone and can't be saved. Where's if you kill no zombies at all, once you find a cure - which you will eventually - you can not only stop the zombie infection from spreading, but you can also turn all the zombies back to humans, basically leaving you with 0 casualties. To sum up: don't kill any zombies and start researching a cure as soon as possible.

The region will be closed during the event.... We as a region always rank highly in survival statistics... while the choice is yours.... sabotaging our survival ranking will be frowned upon.
I believe last outbreak we were ranked something like 13th in the world.... we hope to improve this number.

Since all you guys are like super right wing nations I thought you would just be death to everything but I mean researching the cure sounds fine. Wasn't going to embrace the infection or anything...

Whatever it takes to win... plus we tried the kill them all before.

Greater baltoscandia

I was personally planning on killing the zombies, but if curing them will increase Nordic Lands ranking in the game, then I will put my efforts into a cure.

Killing them would be acceptable... its the nations who embrace the zombies and send hordes at their neighbors that would really hurt us. We aim to be infection free for the second year in a row.

We might have to convene a Security Council to authorize and excerise n00kular options against zombie embracers.

Sure if you can overcome CPH's endorsements to become delegate. Other than that i'm afraid I can't bestow the ability.
