Hi Bankerdom!
Glad you're enjoying our conversations, feel free to join in whenever you're online :) We're all pretty sporadic with our activity at times..

Hm, that's interesting. A lot of regions I've had a bit to do with (either through having embassies, or regions that my other nations are in) have been raided recently, and they've all been by different raiders..

Wow big spark in activity. Got to catch up now with a long wall of text

Kalamare: the first atomic bomb was tested in mid July 1945, a month before Germany surrendered from the war. Germany was already finished by that time so you cannot state that without the atomic bomb the Nazis would of slaughtered more people. The Russians had already freed most of the concentration camps by July 1945 and Germany had no real army left. The only reason the US didn't make a large scale landing on Japan was because the amount of resources that would of had to be used would of been astronomical, far more than 2 atom bombs would cost. The Japanese would of fought till the end using guerrilla tactics (which the US was pathetic against, proof: Viatnam War). So to save time and money, the US dropped the atomic bombs on civilian populations because it would absolutely destroy morale and show the Japanese that the US didn't care for human life and would annihilate any resistance. I can bet you that the US generals that ordered the bombings didn't lose any sleep over what they had done.

So to conclude: The use of the atomic bomb didn't affect Nazi Germany as it was first tested a month before DDay in Europe and the actual bombings were after Germany's surrender. The US used the atomic bombs to save themselves money.

Byzantiium: Wasn't the votes between Mccain and Obama very close (not sure about this, I was 11 at the time of the US elections so I can't remember)? Because that would make the "race vote" be the deciding factor between who would win the elections.

And I pretty much pointed out my view in my post to Kalamare.

Chimatsuri: I love writing essays! Usually their fiction essays though, for English class. Essay writing exams are the only exams I feel comfortable in. Whenever I write a complex essay (even though the essay isn't complex) and I have a twist ending, everyone in my class is like whaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Should I make a poll on the SS to liven up activity there (also I'd love to get the roleplay back up). And we need to also get set dates for other elections and such.

Shouldn't we maybe help out the previous delegate, as a sign of respect to a region we've had an embassy with for ages?

Bankerdom: Good to see you're enjoying our little debates, you'll find every now and then one will pop up and they're be a big debate for a few days until things settle down.

What do you mean by fiction essays? The only essays I get to write in English are analytic and persuasive. I do write a bit of fiction in my own time though - both fanfiction and originals. I don't do that as much as I'd like though, I just don't have time. My creative writing has pretty much become scrawling poems in my notebooks rather than doing maths (which is probably why I feel like I did awfully on my exam today...)

Go for it with the poll! We should also go back to our discussions over a regional Constitution. I'm happy to draw up a VERY rough draft once exams are over, if you guys would like... That and the book on NSW should be enough to stop me from going mad with boredom!

I'm all for helping out the delegate, but I'm unsure as to what we could do...I mean, we're such a small region ourselves..

I'll throw my name in for Minister.

In English for example we have to write a short story built around a given sentence for example:

Write a 500 word narrative essay based around the following subject: "The darkness downstairs"

That was my last essay that I had to write about. We also have to right some analytic essays on books such as Lord of the Flies and that which I'm not too bad in.

Don't worry I tend to just fall asleep in maths lately. I have no clue what's going on with my trig at the moment and I have my maths exam next week monday.

I've set up a little thread in the regional elections forum just so that everyone can post whether they want to participate or not. Once everyone has answered I'll set up the pole. Also I'd be happy to lend a hand with the raft draft if you need any help (after the exams of course).

Just because we're small doesn't mean we can't help. There's 4 of us active WA nations, and we need 7 to regain control of the region. We can offer help to the previous delegate but we'll tell him that he needs to find another 2 WA nations to support us. That'll mean there will be us 4, the previous delegate and 2 others (or more).

I've added you to the list Byzantiium

Ah okay. That's odd that you call those essays, we just call them narratives or short stories. Where possible I avoid writing them in exams because I tend to go off topic and forget to include a reference to the subject. In my exam on Thursday, I wrote three analytic essays and a persuasive speech.

I can't sleep in maths, I have to sit at the front of the class...Honestly, what teacher gives Year 12s a seating plan?! At least the guy I sit next to is amazing at maths and helps me with everything...when he isn't asleep. He moved here from China last year and he actually sleeps through maths because the stuff is so easy for him, and the teacher knows it so she just lets him sleep.

So, it's exam time everywhere then? I did my Japanese oral, Maths and English exams in the week just gone, and I've got four more exams in the coming week. When do your exams finish, NuerNeo?

I was going that all of our WA nations leaving to help out would leave us vulnerable, but then I remembered about password protection. What does everyone else think?

Our English "essays" are usually either descriptive, narrative, discursive or argumentative, while our History essays are always analytic.

The teachers always give us seating plans but we never really stick to it. After a week or so everyone has moved to sit next to their friends anyway. Also, is it just me or are ALL Asians incredibly good at maths.

I have an IT theory exam at 4pm (in 6 and a half hours) which will be my first exam, and then my exams end with Advanced Maths and Afrikaans Creative Writing the following Wednesday. It's gonna be a nightmare.

Exactly, but the difficult thing would be to get everyone to endorse the previous delegate a minute before update time.

Well looks like the UDL moved in and cleaned up the region anyway. So West Africa is back to normal it seems.

We have to stick to our seating plans in all classes, our teachers enforce them pretty strictly. Luckily, I'm sat next to my friends in all but one class. As for Asians - I would disagree. I several Asian friends, ranging from the guy I sit next to in maths right through to this girl who literally can't work out 2 + 2.

Good luck for your exams!

Also, good to see West Africa is back. This may be a good time to further our relations with them?

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was going to, but then I had to leave...

I think the reason why most Asian children are so smart and cultured is because (I read a book about this) of the parenting style. In this particular case (the book) the girls usually practiced piano and violin for at least six hours a night, they were never allowed to get a grade lower than an A, never allowed to go a sleepover, never allowed to be in a play, and never allowed to not be the best at something.

Good luck on your exam, NuerNeo! If NS is right, it should happen in about half an hour. I hope you do well( you too, Chimatsuri!)

Those "fiction essays" sound cool. We do something like that sometimes, our teacher has a book full of them, but they're all goofy. The first one was like "Write a story a girl named Dot, but don't use any letters with dots in them." Last year we did a few off of paintings.

Could I get a final decisions on that embassy? I don't want to leave them hanging. I guess majority rules...

Chimatsuri, you can count the votes, but I'll help, too, if you need it.
