I shall be off to visit the following event:

I invite you to the second annual Exodus Peace Festival. We held one a while back on our forum, and it was a huge success. We had nations from many regions throughout the world of NS. It was a great chance to bond with natons from different walks of life in NS.

The purpose of the festival is to bring regions and nations together to celebrate peace. It is a time to have fun, meet nations from other regions,and just relax.

You may ask how we celebrate peace? We come together, many of us from different backgrounds, and have fun together. we celebrate peace through poetry, song lyrics, visual art, and many other ways.

So, if you wish to be apart of this festival, and I strongly encourage you to. Visit our forum, register to it, and start posting in the peace festival section on the forum. If you came to the first festival then there is no need to register. I look forward to seeing many new nations, and nations who came to the first festival. :-D

730 Days ago Mikeswill was reestablished as Delegate after a one day glitch. In actuality Mikeswill became Delegate on September 22, 2004 ~ 10 days after the deletion of the then Delegate Mikes Hope who had been Delegate since November 2003. As Mikes Hope and Mikeswill are one in the same, I have had the pleasure of serving this region for nearly three years.

The legal status of immigrants from Mexico is a recent state of concern. In the past (prior to 1960) our relationships with our neighbors to the south was far more conciliatory than the current racist attitude of the American people. In fact, during World War II we encouraged Mexican farm workers to harvest our crops whilst our boys were fighting the war.

In the 1860's we encouraged Chinese and the Irish to immigrate so that the transcontinental railroad could be built. The force immigration of Africans to our country was often illegal and seldom transported through Ellis Island.

The fact remains that when our economy requires immigration the political status of the folks willing to work and strive for the betterment of our country be damned.

Free Enterprise is the ultimate form of Democracy in that the market determines the supply and demand for both products and labor. The 12 million currently illegal immigrants in our Nation are here because our markets demand their labors. Without these individuals providing their efforts the costs of goods created and sold would increase to a level of which many "Americans" would not be able to afford. The economy would constrict, as would our global economic condition.

I have yet to touch upon the humanitarian history of our Nation. The majority of our so-called legal immigrants since 1519 (Cortez's landing in New Spain) have arrived to realize economic and political freedom. From the Pilgrims, to the Germans and Irish, to the Italians, and other Europeans, our History books honor their plight to our borders. Nary an American politico does not emphasize an ancestor whose courage and hard work is not the basis of the American Dream.

And yet those immigrants of color: Africans, Asians, Hispanics ~ are not honored for their like quest of instilling the American Dream into their lives and lives of their families. No, these hard working and courageous individuals' stories are discounted in the case of the African-Americans (forced immigration) or ridiculed in the case of the Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mexicans.

This alternate attitude is Racism.

This alternate attitude is not the Christianity of Jesus' "Love Thy Neighbor"

Economically, this racist anti-Christian right-wing political hypocrisy is more debilitating than its cost. Were the current 12 million illegal immigrants given social security numbers, their income tax contribution would completely out-weigh the cost of services the government of our Nation provides to all Americans.

Additionally, their labors would continue our economic growth thereby benefiting all Americans. Rather than expel these individuals we should grant these courageous hard workers immediate citizenship. (Their actions are far more representative of our ancestors).

It is the Christian thing to do.

It is the historically right thing to do.

It is economically the smartest thing to do.

And lastly, it is the Politically savviest thing to do.
'Cause we Latino's aren't going away.
We "legals" are growing in numbers.
And we do vote.
