Liberate The Black Riders
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region.

Nominee (region): The Black Riders

Description: Description: The Security Council;

Recognizing that The Black Riders were once a peaceful and neutral region.

Noting the region was invaded by The Black Rider Overlord of General Halcones in 2011 as the base for their new raiding organization.

Dismayed that the region has since turned into a notorious raiding region, having been condemned by this esteemed Council for crimes against regions of all kinds.

Believing that the region should be returned to its original leaders.

Noting that the Security Council is the only hope for this region being returned to its former peaceful state.

Hereby Liberates The Black Riders.

LIBERATION PROPOSALS:
The bottom line is that when Defenders lose in the field of battle they result to cowardice and change the rules of play. I have kept my Region Raider free for 9+ years by keen vigilance to the Game Play throughout the JenGuv World. This has included Puppets and Spies and infiltration of Regions. Such is the way of the Rules which I accepted when I created my Nation on October 28, 2003. If a Region cannot defend itself, too bad! The leadership should have been responsible. These SC Resolutions tilt the balance to Elitist who determine what is a Raid and what is Liberation by manipulating the Rules. It is like playing with a brat who takes away the toys when the outcome goes against his bias. The only security I have in my Region aside from Endorsements is the RIGHT as Delegate to Password my Region against any threat. If this RIGHT is at the whim of the SC then have the game makers remove all password abilities across the board thereby removing this continued farce of hypocrisy.

Moreover, the above legislation, in trying to Liberate a region with an active founder, is but a ploy to use game mechanisms to harass another region magnifying the absurdity of such legislation.

As such, Mikeswill voted AGAINST the World Assembly Resolution "Liberate The Black Riders".

The Tao is great.

Man follows the earth.

The Tao follows only itself.

We live in a funny country where our greatest enemy has become ourselves. We used to be united against the Commies but they have become capitalists leaving nary a foe to find. We could try to unite against the terrorists but we prefer to attack our own Presidents. Regardless of what he does (dove or hawk) the opposition will say he is wrong and continue the politics of division. Part of the blame is the vast number of Americans claiming to be Independents. They have neither platform nor mechanism to impact the power structure so they must be manipulated left or right based on 8 second sound bites. We used to be a country of Democrats and Republicans where we had ideological reasons for our position. Now, with the incessant ploys to convince the middle all is smoke and mirrors and hate and fear. Despite all this we prefer to sit on our couches and computers and bitch and moan about the state of affairs in Washington DC rather than take action to take back the mechanisms of power that worked so well for nearly 200 years. As much as I loathe the Tea Party I give them credit for taking political action via usurping the Republican party to get their message across. They have shown that a mere 20% of elected seats can impact the whole. Until we Americans return to active participation in our democracy in a meaningful way, the current state of affairs will remain the same.

In 1952 22% of Americans identified themselves as Independents. After the war years of LBJ and Nixon’s Watergate, the number rose to 36% in 1976. It is now estimated that 42% of Americans are Independents, almost doubling the 1952 figure. Unfortunately for the Independents, they have created no mechanism to exert any unified power. The mechanisms of power remain with the two-party system where it can be argued that the partisan supporters of the parties are more staunchly ideological thus limiting progressive ideas and narrowing the slate of prospective candidates. To win an election the parties must tap into the fickle middle that have no platform. The result is a disenchanted group of Independents frustrated by their limited power of voting for candidates that do not represent their fragmented ideologies. What I am suggesting is that Independents come to the realization that their lack of unity outside of the system only brings them greater frustration and disenfranchisement with the political system. Moreover, that by opting to rejoin the system via entry to the party whose platform best resembles their ideology, Independents can work within the mechanisms of power to mold their choice of parties into their vision. By doing so Independents can put the demos back in to democracy.

Meanwhile, in our current system where every House member must be in constant campaign mode given their short terms, compromise is stifled, especially given the perils of gerrymandering whereby each of these members fears only a stauncher version of his or her own party. Additionally, once elected, it becomes more difficult for newer voices to unseat incumbents. As such I would propose three changes to our current system: 1) All House terms should be doubled to four years rather than two giving these members opportunities to legislate between elections; 2) members of the House and the Senate will be limited to two terms creating a natural change in personnel; 3) the presidential term would be limited to one six year term removing the need for reelection and equaling the term of a Senator. In my opinion, what are needed in this country are consensus, compromise and accountability. With term reforms and the participation of Independents within the mechanisms of power, I believe we as a country can become for unified.
