I was thinking that it might be nice to start over completely new. Make a new map, and make new histories/nations (although people can retain their current nations and histories if they want). There are a lot of inactive people, and it might do some good to clear the map and allow for new connections to be built.

I'll try to be on as often as I can. Unfortunately, I have really poor Internet access, so forgive me if I keep getting disconnected.

I just bought Civ 5, so I'm down to play anytime if that's okay!

As far as the region goes; I don't think a new map is necessary, seeing as uur biggest problem has always been activity and lack of members. We just need to bump up recruitment and actively engage in rping more. Finding a way to connect the very disparate regions of Lucerna would be nice too. Right now things are very isolated, dead or mostly puppets :P

I'm happy to play Civ 5 anytime people are available! My Steam name is bassist_zach, if anyone wants to add me.

I'm actually on the fence about the map, because I think there are solid arguments for both. I feel as though having a large map encourages people to make large claims (and we've discussed in the past how new people tend to not read the OP in the map thread, which specifically discourages this). On the flip side of that, having so much empty space can be overwhelming. But I can see the other argument, too; having too small of a map seems cramped, and doesn't really allow for realistic portrayal of cultural ties. In the old Lucerna map, we had three continents, and countries were seemingly placed at random.

Maybe a compromise would be to get rid of some of the distance between the continents, and possibly decrease the size of some of them? The basic shape and cultural layout would remain the same, but it could possibly feel more connected.

I'd be up for some Civ V.

As for the map I agree with Eba in that maybe we should reduce distance and change the size of some of the continents. Changing the entire map would be too much of a hassle and would mess with a lot of stuff already set up.

In unrelated news how would you guys feel about setting up a Skype group chat and a LINE chat for easy communication? it's just an idea the IRC works but it requires people to log on while LINE and Skype are always up (for most people)

I've been working on a religion for Ebatica, which is largely based on Christianity. Would any of you guys have large populations of Kanists in your nations? I'm still working out the tenets of the religion, but you can still probably get a good idea.

I should get working on the wiki page for my religion. I think maybe during the rule of the Saionji clan and a few other clans that are very pan-Tojimese and anti-foreigner that Kanniism would be banned alongside Christianity, Islam, Judaism, ect. There could be an underground sect of Kanists that have meshed their beliefs with Buddhism and Tenshinnen (Tojimese native religon) to fit better with society. Kind of like the hiding Christians in Japan. That's only if you'd be OK with this.

Yeah, I think that'd be interesting. I'll try to add more to the page soon so you have more to work with.

Cool. On an unrelated note is anybody else having trouble getting to esper.net? It's not loading for me.

No, everything seems to be working fine; I'm on right now, in fact.
