Democracy 3 isn't working, which means I can't make the fourth Reich, I iz sads now.

What the hell happened here? 63 residents? Seriously? This place used to be jumping.

Meh. Libertarianism is at a low point.

Reading the forums at 2011, 2012. There were a lot of libertarians on at that time. Now? Not really. There seem to be more fascists and conservatives on, which is new.

Your region should use a recruitment tool like THI does. The sole reason we haven't slipped into oblivion is our use of the recruitment API. I think I even telegrammed Sib about it a while back, but got no response. I think it's safe to say he didn't take my advice.

We used to have, like, ZombieRothbard, Terra Agora, and Sib and I were more active. So there was a solid contingent of minarchists/ancaps most of the time. ZR and TA have gone, and Sib and I aren't so active, it seems...

Conversely, I now know way more libertarians/ancaps irl - to the point where it's not that uncommon to just coincidentally meet someone who's an ancap.

Huh.

I don't meet much libertarians irl. But then again I usually don't talk politics irl.

And we had Aero, Keron, for a bit, TMR and Unslavery,

I am too busy to deal with stuff like this. I have a real life that needs attention. And when I do get back to NS a little more consistently I have more fun things to do.

Like run our next tournament. In basketball.

That will happen, in mid to late December or early 2015, I think.

I've had a lot of different things happen in my life recently. I don't have time to recruit pretend nations to a pretend region.

We're doing a B-ball tourney? Count me in. Also is it just me or does it seem like RL has ramped up for just about everyone here.

I have a busy life too. It's not hard to set up at all, and all you have to do is leave a browser open and connected to nationstates for the recruitment telegrams to be sent out. It's mostly automatic.

It also requires giving a sh!t about dumb, irrelevant stuff like the number of nations in this region.

Which your constituents happen to care about. You were elected to this position by the people of Laissez Faireholm to serve them, not the other way around. Do your job as delegate or else someone might think about running against you again in the near future.

Bel,
I'll be honest and I'm only speaking for me, but do keep in mind sib, and I used to get on each others nerves quite a bit. I don't really care if sib recruits or not, The guy has RL to deal with, so long as he's logging in regularly to make sure we don't get invaded, in case dis goes inactive, doesn't bot people unless they are legitimately being an annoyance to the region, or an invader, and overall isn't a dick, It's not a big deal, if we had a regional government, or regional RP's or something outside of sports tournaments, and RMB discussions, fine then you would havre a point, but the delgate doesn't really need to manage much here.

LFH has lost over 40% of its population just since I left a few months ago. 40%! If you're not concerned about the future of a region which is slowly withering away, you need to re-evaluate the situation.

Bullshit. Most of them were puppets. Our most active real members are mostly still here, albeit less active.

My grandfather just died. I have a new job. I have a new boss. The best job in the world, and the best boss in the world. I am in the process of starting a new business and possibly moving.

Take your pathetic crying over pretend nations elsewhere.

Pretty much this.

I, too, have a new job. I cannot say I enjoy mine as you enjoy yours, though. It keeps me very busy, as does the Libertarian Party, and taking care of my family. I am only 18 years old, but have been forced into the role of father thanks to my own father leaving us many years ago and my mother losing her job and being forced to take a job with much lower pay. You think you have it rough? Try having your power turned off because you were late paying the bills, because you needed gas money to go to and from work to make ends meet. Try having your internet go out for days on end because Comcast refuses to accept a payment that is only a few minutes late. Try having to help feed a family of five in a double wide trailer, on the borderline of poverty at only 18 years old. When you have all that on your plate, you can bitch about your own personal problems. Until then, do your job or get someone else who will.

Bel,
I don't think sib was bitching about his problems, he was more saying he doesn't have the time to recruit, and look most of the nations here were puppets, people aren't as active because we don't have the time to be active, I'm nowhere near your situation, but my hours are going up at work next week because of the holidays, it's going to stay at a high level, for about a good couple months, next week I work 35 hours, most of them overnight, or part overnight shifts, I get out at midnight to 2 am, I have school 6 hours a day plus looking for scholarships for college, I'm not complaining, nor am I saying I have it worse than you by any means, but What I am saying is, I don't have as much time to be active, I was gone for most of five months, because I didn't have the time, most of the region "Dying" is its members not being active, that's on us, not sib, anybody can recruit, it doesn't have to be sib, if it's because he's the delegate, isn't everyone in the region who's in the WA eligible to recruit as potential delegates. We as region members don't have time to be active.

I never claimed that I have it rough. I explained why I have been less active.

I was not bitching about personal problems. You were bitching at me, for not recruiting. And now you are bitching about your father and poverty. ecruiting.

A death in the family, and other far more important things, tend to make that happen.

Oh look. A person that can read.

Thanks MG, spot on again.

He's the delegate, so I would expect him to take responsibility when things go ary. That's kind of the point of having an executive delegate.

No, it isn't. You have no class.

Money won't return my grandfather.

It's not hard at all. It literally takes no more than 5 minutes to set up. I don't see why you're putting up such a fight against the idea of recruitment when it could only help your region.

I'm putting up a fight about your careless, callous attitude, at a time of grief.

Even people whom I did not tell about my grandfather's death, including one whom I fought with frequently and intensely, sent me condolences.

You on the other hand, claimed that I was bitching about personal problems and that I have it tough.

Only in your head would "The best job in the world, and the best boss in the world." would be taken as bitching or claiming that I have it rough.

Kindly fvck off. I have to go make funeral arrangements with my grandmother and parents.

But you still have an obligation to serve your region as the elected delegate, and you have flat out refused to perform such an easy task as recruitment for your region, simply because you don't believe it is the responsibility of the delegate. It's not because your grandfather recently died. I know it isn't, because I sent you a telegram about how to recruit several months ago and you ignored it. It's horrible. I know how it feels when someone close to you dies. But there's a difference between morning the death of a loved one and abusing tragedy just to win an argument.

I'm not abusing tragedy to win the argument.

It was not months ago, but weeks ago. Regardless, not only do I have other things to take care of, as I have already explained, no where is it listed as an obligation to recruit.

Obligation? Do you even know what the word means?

MG has already explained what the Delegate's "obligations" are, in this region. He was correct about them.

And an even more correct list of obligations would be "nothing." It's a meaningless internet game.

My life on the other hand, is not.
